- "My thinking is if we can put Vol down like a sick dog, then the galaxy's a better place."
- — Commander Sarah Palmer
Parg Vol was a Sangheili warrior, terrorist, arms dealer, assassin,[1] and known associate of Shipmaster Jul 'Mdama.
Biography
Parg Vol was born July 24, 2481 on Malurok, also known as Decided Heart. In the Covenant he was a Field Master, despite his hatred of the Jiralhanae and San'Shyuum, he opposed Thel Vadam's alliance with humanity, believing the Sangheili should have wiped out humanity completely.
Draetheus V
After the Human-Covenant War, in 2554, he was the commanding officer on Draetheus V during Merg Vol's attack on the planet. As his personal Phantom was being stolen by Spartan Sarah Palmer, he ordered a frontal assault including Type-26 Wraith bombardment.[2]
After the battle, Parg Vol worked in arms deals and hit contracts before consolidating a force under Jul 'Mdama's Covenant, joining solely due to his hatred of humanity.[3]
Requiem
In February 2558, he led Covenant ground forces during the early stages of the Second Battle of Requiem.[4] Soon after securing a foothold on Requiem, the UNSC learned of Vol's then-current location. He had been overseeing a supply dump of captured UNSC matériel in the Quarry. SPARTAN-IV Fireteam Crimson were deployed to assassinate Vol, though the Elite escaped aboard a Phantom as his forces engaged the Spartans.[4]
As Fireteam Crimson were extracted from the supply dump, Parg Vol launched an attack on ONI's Galileo Base.[4] He was sighted by Marine sentries during the attack, though he again escaped shortly after Crimson's arrival.[5] UNSC forces eventually tracked him a Forerunner structure called the Gate, which had recently been retaken from the UNSC. Commander Sarah Palmer redeployed Fireteam Crimson to kill the terrorist. After fighting through local Covenant forces of roughly company strength, the Spartans killed Parg Vol and eliminated all remaining hostiles.[6]
Equipment
Parg Vol wore a Warrior-class harness, and carried a Type-33 fuel rod gun for protection.
