The DSC-class support ship[1] is a type of support vessel used by the Covenant, and attached to their wandering fleets. These vessels are much smaller than a Covenant capital ship, and are not designed for combat. Rather, they are designed to provide fresh food for Covenant soldiers.[2] They contain large hunting preserves holding many types of animals, to be killed and fed to the personnel within the fleet.[1] They also contain plants, though it is unknown whether they are used for food or not.[3]
They are primarily crewed by Huragok and Unggoy, with almost no Sangheili on board. They are occasionally commanded by a single Minor Prophet.[4]
