- Unknown UNSC member, moments before the station's destruction[1]
Malta Station was one of Earth's defending Orbital Defense Platform and was so named because it held station above the island of Malta.
During the First Battle of Earth the station was destroyed by an Anti-Matter Bomb placed by Covenant boarders. Not aware of the invader's true intent, the withdrawal of the boarders was misinterpreted by some of station's crew.
The destruction of Malta, followed shortly after by Athens Station, allowed the Prophet of Regret's assault carrier to break through the orbital defenses to the surface.
