	And the thing is that the cutscene in Dawn where he's flying through debris is in first-person, so it's kinda not possible to show the damage at that point as it happens. I don't think it's super conclusive speculation, but we could put something like "it's possible the damage came as a result of his fall to requiem, as that portion of the model is never shown in cutscenes until MC wakes up from his fall." Also, I could be wrong, but didn't the armor in Halo 2 not have damage, and it only appeared after MC fell to earth in a way very similar to what happened on Requiem? the parallels seem to further suggest intent to me, and that could be used to support the alteration.
