The DAV-class light corvette is a class of small starship in the now-defunct Covenant fleet.[1] Commonly assigned in stealth operations, vessels of this class were also tasked with the deployment and retrieval of Ranger teams.[2]

Design details
Similar in design to the larger SDV-class heavy corvette,[1] the DAV-class light corvette is used to infiltrate a planet's defenses for reconnaissance, making way for larger invasion forces. Despite its limited weaponry, the DAV-class corvette uses active camouflage systems to render it imperceptible to UNSC sensors, and visually invisible.[1]
Armament
DAV-class ships are primarily stealth ships, and as such they were not as well-armed as the larger SDV-class heavy corvette.[1] This falls in line with common observations that weapon layout differ greatly between Covenant ship classifications.[3] Despite this, DAV-class ships are armed with heavy plasma cannons.[1]
