This Poseidon-class Light Carrier is utilized by the United Nations Space Command in the years following the Human-Covenant War.[1]

Overview

Design

This class of ship is flat, though the bow slants upward and forward. Several antennae protrude from the fore end. The ship has one large, primary thrust nozzle and four smaller, secondary nozzles.[2]

Service history

The class had entered service by February 28, 2557, with at least one present at the Template:UNSCship's commissioning ceremony.[3] Several ships of this class were part of Battlegroup Dakota and attacked the Mantle's Approach during the Didact's attack on Earth in July of that year.[2] During the Second Battle of Requiem, at least three ships of this class deployed fireteams to the surface in order to find Dr. Catherine Halsey after her abduction at the hands of the Covenant.[4]

Behind the scenes

These ships are intended to appear only in the background during the level Midnight. However, exploiting a glitch allows the player to examine these vessels up close, along with two theretofore-unseen classes. Because these ships are intended to appear only as scenery, they are rendered as brushes rather than level geometry; as such, the player can fly the Broadsword through them without harm.
