The creature can be seen above the rock.

These unidentified creatures resembling birds belong to a species of avian-like aliens. They were seen flying around in High Charity, the Covenant's capital holy city. They were encountered on the various parts of High Charity where gardens existed.

Trivia

  • They are seen in Halo 2. They do not interact whatsoever with the player. However, they can be shot, and when shot, they will explode in a burst of blood.[1]
  • According to the game's model files, they are Earth seagulls. Probably supposed to be some alien bird, but the model itself is a normal seagull. The level Outskirts has ambient wildlife sounds including seagulls, but there are no models of the gulls in the level. Perhaps the model was just recycled for use in High Charity.
