Search_logo.png

Can we change the Image:Search_logo.png link so that it doesn't go to the Wikia Home page. On Wookieepedia when you click on their Search_logo.png it takes you to their Advanced Search Page. Can we change our link so that when you click the Search_logo.png it also goes to the advanced search page? --John117 02:35, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

No, sorry. There's no way to change where the search box links to. Angela (talk) 08:17, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Minor Star Ships

Should all Star Ship Stubs be moved to a central page? As shown for example in, Minor Star Ships? Add your opinion on the Talk:Minor Star Ships page.

Google hits the OLD Halopedia

I think this is a real problem. When you google Halopedia you get the old Halopedia address as the number one hit site. Is there anyway of creating a redirect to here? Before when Halopedia was down there was a page with a few words. Could that be recreated so that it is a page that redirects here?

As of now it is directed to some shopping center links, how long before its sold to a porn site?

To preempt this we need to get sites to update their links so that they point to here. This includes personal pages like Dragonclaw's personal page so that next time google trawls through the internet everything will point here. --John117 06:20, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Oh good Dragonclaw you changed your personal page. Any chance you can contact Bungie to update this article you wrote?
I doubt it. First comes the matter of convincing them I'm the same person who submitted it and even if I can do that, I'm not sure they'd care enough. --Dragonclaws 05:03, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Action Figures

I suggest we add the action figures page to the front page...menu or whatever you would call it. -ED 02:55, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Which menu though?
Well I would think the most logical place would be in the first column underneath "Books", but that column is getting a little long compared to the second one. Maybe we should consider redesigning the front page or something? -ED 21:07, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
The right column is going to use up that empty space when Halo 3 comes out. How about changing the movie header to something else and sticking action figures under that? --Dragonclaws 02:32, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
That works, but what do we name the new header? "Misc." is my best idea...there really isnt anything in common between the action figures and the movie. -ED 05:29, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
I was thinking something on the order of "expanded universe" or "promotional material" but those don't really apply to both, so "Misc." works. --Dragonclaws 05:34, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
What about InUniverse and Real World?--User:John11708:34, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

What to do about the timeline

As it stands now we have a page called Timeline which has all the events listed year by year. Now User:ED has stated he is going to break it up into various years, see here. However I've noticed that other users have started their own project and are creating entries under a new Timeline Category. What is the format we are to use? What is the policy? --210.174.41.209 01:42, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

User:ED wrote or proposed to the following on the Talk:2552 page:--John117 02:02, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
I suggest that we make a number of articles for each important year (2517, 2525, 2552, etc.) and put them all into a category: Timeline. At the same time, we could make a "2001 Productions", "2002 Productions", etc to cover the real world history of the developments and releases in the Halo universe. Another idea similar to the one at memory-alpha.org. -ED 03:12, 18 August 2006
The idea sounds good and I've noticed whoever is making all these pages is using somekind of table on the bottom of the page. I propose creating somekind of template like the year template at Wikipedia for easy navagation.--John117 02:02, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Wikia Spotlight

You might have noticed a new feature called Wikia Spotlight above the ads. We are featuring eight wikis here to see whether this is useful in bringing in new users. Halopedia is one of the first ones to be shown in this feature, and I'd appreciate your feedback at Wikia:Forum:Wikia Spotlight about whether you think this is useful, and whether it has brought any new users to your wiki. The eight wikis we're trying this with first are World Wikia, Marvel Universe, Halopedia, Cell Phone Enthusiasts, iPod, PokerWiki, The Film Guide, and RuneScapeWiki. Angela (talk) 14:04, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

I think it's a great idea! Any publicity will help us out! Is there are any user tools to tell if there is an increase in site traffic? Also, do you have a solution to the Search_logo.png, shown further up the page? --John117 21:48, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
According to the tracker on the Main Page there was an increase of traffic but thats gone down.--Esemono 04:30, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Logo Contest

Just thinking that to really improve the space we need some more graphics like they have at Wookieepedia. I've created a Logo Contest page and I hope everyone can show off their Photoshop skills.

Main Page Design

Also, more inspiration from Wookieepedia. On the front page is it possible to add something like this:

How about this?--Esemono 13:12, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Would this be stuck on the bottom, or are you suggesting removing the current look altogether? --Dragonclaws 05:15, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
It would be stuck on the bottom but I do think we should change the look too. Most of the text at the top is redundant. We tell people that the Help Section is where they will find Help or to look to the About section to learn about Halopedia. I think people can figure that out by themselves. -- User:John117 02:31, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Unggoy

Should the articles for the Covenant species be moved to their real names (Grunt to Unggoy)? My fear is that people would have trouble understanding, but Bungie is increasing their usage of the names. Thoughts? --Dragonclaws 06:42, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Leave it the way it is, a great man once said the Japanese call themselves the Nihongin yet we still call them the Japanese.--220.99.144.216 06:36, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

These guns the same?

Well are they? If so please merge.
