::Agreed. "The Reclamation" does sound like a very cool and an apt name for this conflict, but as Tucker stated, it is fanfiction-y and implies far too much. While the UEG has finally cemented itself as the sole superpower with its victories against the Prometheans and Covenant, it has yet to deal with the ramifications of the "Mantle." As such, this conflict's current fan title is good enough. {{User:Grizzlei/Sig}}

==Merge with Second Human-Covenant War==
As suggested by Jugus, I feel that this article should be merged with the Second Human-Covenant War article. ''Halo 4'' makes it fairly clear that the conflict against the Covenant encompasses the fight with the Prometheans, (not the other way around), even though the Didact led both factions. With the Didact gone, it seems that 'Mdama is now in acting command of the Prometheans. Maybe the "Didact's Hand" moniker isn't just propaganda. Anyway, Jugus' reasoning in the merge template just about sums it up. --[[User:Braidenvl|Courage never dies.]] ([[User talk:Braidenvl|talk]]) 12:52, 5 June 2013 (EDT)

Naming

Since this war took place on other locations besides Requiem, Ivanoff (Installation 03) and Earth orbit, the name of the conflict as a whole shouldn't be "on Requiem". Maybe "Human-Promethean war" or something like that.File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. Snipes450File:Colonel Grade One.png 19:12, 7 November 2012 (EST)

  • Definately a valid point. "Human-Didact conflict"? "Human-Promethean conflict 2557"? VARGR 19:18, 7 November 2012 (EST)
I'd call it "Human-Promethean War" with a disclaimer that the name is a descriptor and not an official name.--Spartacus TalkContribs 23:22, 7 November 2012 (EST)

As for the conflicts on Requiem, seeing as they are six months apart, maybe "First Battle of Requiem" and "Second Battle of Requiem".File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. Snipes450File:Colonel Grade One.png 12:33, 8 November 2012 (EST)

I'd agree with that. I'm not sure if the conflicts involving the Didact can be considered a fully-fledged war yet. --Cyrannian 14:51, 10 November 2012 (EST)
There's two more games in the Reclaimer Saga. Didact's monologue in the post-credits sequence should hint towards the events to come. It be a war, kid. :P Grizzlei

Naming 2

I have an idea. Since the Prometheans are hardly the only main adversaries of humanity in this conflict (for example, with the Didact out of the picture for now, leadership of the Covenant/Promethean alliance appears to have fallen to 'Mdama), perhaps a more apt name should be used. Personally, I suggest the "Reclamation war" or the "Reclamation conflict", which ties in with the theme of the Librarian's plan for humanity to reclaim the Forerunner's mantle. What do you think? --Cyrannian (talk) 20:12, 22 February 2013 (EST)

No, because that involves too much "fanon" imposed for a name and doesn't give much detail about the conflict. You could easily easily call the Human-Covenant War "the Reclamation war" because it was all started by humans being identified as reclaimers. So, too vague, and too fanfictiony. Therefore, no. Agreed. "The Reclamation" does sound like a very cool and an apt name for this conflict, but as Tucker stated, it is fanfiction-y and implies far too much. While the UEG has finally cemented itself as the sole superpower with its victories against the Prometheans and Covenant, it has yet to deal with the ramifications of the "Mantle." As such, this conflict's current fan title is good enough. Grizzlei

Halsey

Shouldn't Halsey be put over on the Covenant/Promethean side, since she has defected over to them after the Battle of Requiem.

She worked with the UNSC until she was captured shortly before Requiem was destroyed; her "defection" is merely implied. Brian Reed himself has said that the object of her revenge is meant to be unclear. Jumping ship to the Covenant would be horribly out of character. Just about anyone who knows Dr. Halsey from the books should be under the impression that she is actually manipulating 'Jul. It's too soon to list her with the Covenant/Promethean side, so I have added an "apparently defected" caveat to the UNSC side. --Courage never dies. (talk) 12:25, 7 March 2013 (EST)

Is it over?

Seeing as how all of the Prometheans were destroyed with Requiem, doesn't that mean the war is over? —This unsigned comment was made by 174.159.234.112 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
