It augments?

It was mentioned in the Encyclopaedia passage on the Combat Harness (pg 125) that it increases a Sangheili's strength and speed in a similar fashion to Mjolnir. (To what degree is not mentioned though). Should this not be included somewhere in the article? ;) Anton1792 21:03, 2 June 2011 (EDT)

I do not remember it ever mentioning that the Harness augments it's wearer. Can you post the exact quote I don't have access to my copy of The Flood. OniLink 01:29, 24 June 2011 (EDT)

It was the Encyclopaedia, not The Flood. The exact wording of the passage, from page 125, is:

"The Elite combat harness is the standard armour used by the Sangheili in all Covenant conflicts. Similar to the Spartans' Mark VI in that it boosts speed and strength while adding a personal energy shield, the armour is actually less advanced and can withstand less damage than a Spartans' armour." -Anton1792 15:43, 2 July 2011 (EDT)

Do the Elites lack arm armor due to lack of equipment nowadays?

Sangheili Harness Hub page

I propose we re-purpose this page into a Sangheili combat harness hub. And made a separate page for the "Combat harness" for normal suit. Just so we dont trash the info.

Ok for the hub page idea. Here is a list of all known Harnesses(that I can remember), just so we have them at the ready for the page.

• Arbiter body armor

Halo 3

• Sangheili combat harness(this would change into something like Combat harness (Sangheili) if you lot support my idea.)
• Ascetic harness
• Assault harness
• Commando harness
• Flight harness

Halo Reach
Thank the Halo the Essential visual guide for this name.

• Infiltration harness (this is used by Special Operations Sangheili)
• Ceremonial battle harness (this is used by Halo Reach Zealot)

Halo 2: Anniversary

• Invader harness
• Outrider harness

Halo 4/5
If statements are to be believed and the Halo 4 visual guide then the Halo 4/5's harnesses should be called this

• Storm-class harness
• Commander-class harness
• Warrior-class harness
• Zealot-class harness

Ranger armor note
The Halo Reach and 2A's variants should be considered a sub-set of the Assault harness considering that they are "effectively a highly specialized example of the more ubiquitously encountered – and labeled – Assault harness". The Essential visual guide also calls the Ranger armor in Halo reach the "Assault harness" with an "EVA faceshield".

The Halo 4 and 5 variant is a sub-variant of the Storm-class harness

Luckily this is mainly contained to Halo Reach armor, still annoying regardless.

I don't think we should create articles for all types of armors, especially if there's close to no background information on them (not even names, sometimes). As much as possible, the links should lead to the rank's section called "Equipment/Armor/Class", etc, especially if it shares the same name as the rank (Storm, Ranger...). The only exception, I think, is the Infiltration harness, because it's cross-rank. So we may as well give it its own page.

For the Ranger harness, don't forget the whole quote, which also points out that it's still a different system from the Assault harness: "In many ways, the Sangheili Ranger harness is effectively a highly specialized example of the more ubiquitously encountered – and labeled – Assault harness. And while the EVA-centric Ranger patterns shares many different aspects of its functionality and construction with the Assault harness, they are still for all practical purposes distinct systems." The connection between the Ranger and the Assault variants should simply be pointed out in each article (a little bit like the Storm variant's mention in the Ranger article's Equipment section).

As for the hub page itself, I thought it should be a new page, "Sangheili harness". This current page (Sangheili Combat harness) can stay the way it is, just like Kig-Yar and Unggoy combat harness. No need to rename it, I'd avoid the parentheses. Imrane-117 (talk) 12:49, 6 March 2016 (EST)

Fair enough. :) I only listed them as links regardless in case. Still good to have a list regardless. So we know what to add to the hub. We will need to have a list of the variants after all.

We could do something like the second half of the variants section of the Mjolnir Mark IV page. Where we list all the variants. Have an image to show what it is. And describe about the variant a lil. With maybe a link to the main article if one exists.

If someone creates the page with a basic layout(this one time I am a lil nervous creating a page on this.) I could put down the info for the variants.

Side Note: I do say the Ranger armor gets a page though. With all the different variants there is, Halo 2A, Halo Reach, Halo 4/5, Halo 2A Terminals. It seems fitting to have a page to simply go through all of them saying there differences.--CIA391 (talk) 23:05, 6 March 2016 (GMT)
