Hey there. I posted this on CommanderTony's page also. I am currently an Administrator on the Dragon Ball Wiki and was wondering, how you have configured all of these additional features, the customisation on the user pages. Like the Gifts, Xbox Live Gamertag, Add as Friend, Points and Rank System, Awards, overall look of user pages, Board, Statistics, Quiz's etc etc. Also, what is large interactive box that appears on this page? I would quite like to know about this. I'd really appreciate any information you can give me, if its not to much trouble. Many thanks. | Hey there. I posted this on CommanderTony's page also. I admittedly didn't think this problem would pop up. I instructed Datadeleter and several other users to mark those files for deletion so I could mop them up with Nicbot to make the job easier (its impossible to delete all those files with a human admin). As it is I never realised some files were used in templates or why they're showing up as unused when they're not, so I'll take the blame for that one. In the meantime I advise the editors to continue with care, while is there some way we list out all of the images that are actually in-use? - | I admittedly didn't think this problem would pop up. == Spartan Userbox Issue ==
I didn't really wanna post this on a specific page, as it is on multiple pages. When I was looking up Jun, I noticed that his infobox looked weird. Specifically, the Height and Weight sections don't seem to wrap quite right. It is the same on other Spartan pages as well, but only those with those two fields. These use the Convert template, but I can't see a specific problem in the scripting, but it is basically a huge wall of text. I wouldn't be completely surprised if it turns out to be a problem on my end, but I'm not sure yet. <br>

== Kinect in Halo Anniversary ==
I have been trying to add information about the game using Kinect. Phil Spencer from Microsoft came out and said that it would use Kinect in some way and 343 confirmed this, stating that it would be an optional feature. When I add the information to the page Halofan1234 removes it as he believes it is unnecessary. I believe that as it is a feature in the game, it should be mentioned. == Two covenant ship articles need to be merged ==
The Covenant Super-Destroyer and Battleship are possibly same class. I've been researching this and believe that the illustrator for Halo Wars: Genesis used this line from Halo: First Strike as inspiration: "vessels with five bulbous sections that were nearly two kilometers stem to stem and had a dozen deadly energy projectors." In Genesis, the super-destroyer is depicted as having five bulbous sections and multiple energy projectors. This connection is further reinforced by Halo: Evolutions which came out after both the previously mentioned entries. It states that the vessel has a length of two kilometers and possesses multiple energy projectors. As you can see, the shape, size and armament of this class have all been described in at least two pieces of fiction. Since you are knowledgeable in these regards I hope that you will come to the same conclusion. I've been reading this wiki for years but only started editing it recently. Subsequently, I'm not completely sure if I need administrative permission to merge two articles. Pulsar47
:We've considered this in the past (in fact we previously had the Harvest ship under the Covenant battleship page) but because of the lack of sufficient proof stating they're indeed the same—as well as the different designation given for the Harvest ship in Evolutions—we treat the two ships as different. It's a real possibility that they're different names for the same class, but because the Covenant are known to have multiple ship types that look similar and have similar armaments it's better to be on the safe side and consider them separate unless proven otherwise. --<font color="MidnightBlue">Jugus</font> <small>(<font color="Gray">Talk</font> | <font color="Gray">Contribs</font>)</small> 00:14, 6 May 2015 (EDT)

== Spartan IVs augmentations ==
Within all of the current Halo lore we have available to us it appears pretty obvious that any and all SPARTANS within GEN2 gear are fairly similar in their physical capabilities; therefore, the existing assumptions within the page suggesting otherwise should be clarified to represent speculations verses facts. Furthermore and most importantly, lore points to the genetics, robustness, and fortitude of a particular Spartan candidate making up most of their differences, but it also acknowledges that the time they've had to acclimate themselves to their augmented body, the type of training they've had, and any real world experiences go a long way toward unmasking their full potential too. What is also known is that the advancements in augmentation with regards to the SPARTAN-IV program have not only allowed for the past strict guidelines to be done away with allowing less than ideal candidates to receive custom-tailored enhancements meant to bring them to the closest margin possible of the previous Spartan programs' physical and mental results. This knowledge also signifies that were a SPARTAN-IV candidate to possess the genetics, robustness, and fortitude to have been a candidate for the predecessor programs that they could potentially be just as impressive as a SPARTAN-II or III out of Armor once fully acclimated to their augmentations and well trained; hell, even the additional experimental augmentations that were tried during the prototype phase of the program speaks volumes of the maximum potential of these newer augmentations despite the terrible failure rate which ended their inclusion. Anyways, my point is that the SPARTAN-IV augmentation page is full of incorrect assumptions suggesting that all SPARTAN-IVs are inferior to those from the predecessor programs. 67.52.246.42
:Canonical sources DO make it clear that the Spartan-IVs do not reach performance levels as high as Spartan-II, for a number of reasons. The age factor is still critical. Some augmentations are at their optimum when performed at puberty, as was done with the IIs and IIIs. Modern medical technology makes it AVAILABLE to adults, in a slightly less optimal form. Even those who match the genetic criteria for the IIs would be hard pressed to take to the augmentations as well. MJOLNIR GEN2 is designed to outperform GEN1 specifically because the IVs need it to, to compensate for their physical limitations. Hypothetically, a IV in armour is the physical match of a II. Out of armour is a different story.
:Sources also make it clear that the IVs have advantages - because they had a normal life before volunteering, they can better relate to non-Spartans than their predecessors could. They're more psychologically well-adjusted, too, and don't come with the same mess of personal problems that, say, the IIIs came with. With, in my opinion, the exception of Sarah "Halsey was so mean to me wah wah" Palmer, who shows an utterly bemusing personal vendetta. They're not perfect, but that imperfection is also an advantage. And lastly, as Buck puts it, the IVs are meant to be demi-gods to the IIs Titans, but damned if that isn't often enough. They also exist in FAR more plentiful numbers than ANY previous Spartan program did at one time.
:We're not painting the Spartans as inferior knockoffs because we don't like them. We're showing that they're different to their predecessors in important ways, all of which are based on canonical sources.
:Sorry for beating you to the punch, Jugus! -- <font color=indigo>Qura 'Morhek</font> <u><font color=blue>The Autocrat</font></u> <u><font color=purple>of Morheka</font></u> 06:01, 25 July 2015 (EDT)
::@Morhek: well said, you covered pretty much what I was going to say anyway. To add to the above, there's very little justification for adding the hypothetical Spartan-IVs who could reach S-II levels of prowess outside armor to the page because that's exactly what they are - hypothetical. To date, there are two statements (that I know of) from Frank O'Connor stating that a SPARTAN-IV is only equal to an S-II in armor while the latter would destroy the former outside of it. This was especially clear in Frankie's more recent NeoGaf post (which should, by the way, be added to the sources on the S-IV augmentation page). Other than that, your edit to the page contained quite a bit of speculation and information that is at best up to interpretation, as well as extraneous material that is already covered on other pages, which is the reason I trimmed some of it down. I did change some of the wordings on the page to make it more vague, however. But there's no reason to dispute the II/IV comparison when it comes straight from the horse's mouth and there's nothing to contradict it in other sources. --<font color="MidnightBlue">Jugus</font> <small>(<font color="Gray">Talk</font> | <font color="Gray">Contribs</font>)</small> 09:00, 26 July 2015 (EDT)

Regarding this edit. I can understand wanting to leave it vague, but i'm more curious as to why you don't think it implies genetic predisposition. Emile's, Jun's, and Kat's articles all use a word that refers to the natural ability of the individual. Whether it be "aptitude", "talents", or "potential" respectively. These words all imply natural inclination to skills. So, it makes sense that these would all be references to predispositions if they are a natural occurrence in the individual in question. Though none of the articles go into detail, they do make an effort to acknowledge the genetic ability of the character. However, in your defense, the only one who doesn't directly state that their skill was from natural ability was Carter's.
On a side note, do you visit any other Halo sites beside this one? I've always wondered but never had an excuse to ask.Kal825B (talk) 20:13, 5 April 2017 (EDT)
:I just think the source material leaves too much to interpretation to make a definitive statement, especially when no source expressly states they were picked solely due to their genetics (though that was likely a contributing factor in many cases).
:My main point is that why would you set someone apart on the basis of their theoretical predisposition for an ability, rather than that ability itself? Kurt and Mendez had the opportunity to study both of those things, so it hardly makes sense they'd discard one of them entirely. It would be much more advantageous to look at the whole picture of the candidate rather than just one aspect of them.
:I'm not dismissing genetics as a contributing factor here; I'm merely saying it doesn't really make any sense to have been the only selection criterion in that scenario, especially when you're picking people based on abstract traits like leadership, sharpshooting, reconnaissance, etc - how do you even begin to measure those from genes alone? In many cases a natural inclination and practical skill will likely correlate, but the thing about genetics is that they don't always express themselves in clear-cut ways and there are other, random factors which may influence the outcome. (This is obviously different from the program's selection criteria as a whole, which were about augmentation survival rates, thus making genetics of paramount importance in that case.)
:In addition, most of the source material is written in a way that suggests the "cat-2s" were chosen after their training, which suggests observation of their skills in practice; if the selection was solely genetic, each Spartan's fate could've been decided before they first stepped on Onyx. For instance, Jun's profile: "Following graduation at the age of 12, he became one of Alpha Company’s best Spartan-III assets, where his skill as a sniper soon had him leading a headhunter team conducting missions directly for ONI." He wasn't picked because his genes had destined him for greatness, he was picked because he had demonstrably become one of Alpha Company's best Spartans and was a skilled sniper.
:I do frequent the Halo Archive at least and have posted on Reddit a few times (where I think I actually discussed this very topic with you once). --Jugus (talk) 00:29, 6 April 2017 (EDT)
The thing about this is that it wouldn't be theoretical. Ghosts of Onyx makes it clear that Kurt has access to all of their genetic records when the narrator makes the comment of "less-statistically robust". Even though it may not have automatically set some apart, it's not outlandish to think that some genetic profiles were bookmarked to keep special watch on. Though, i can agree with the fact that they probably bookmarked genetic profiles and waited to see how the candidates would develop.
Hmm... I don't have a recollection of that. Do you use the same username as your halopedia account?Kal825B (talk) 22:31, 6 April 2017 (EDT)
:That's what I was saying. Even though they had access to the candidates' genetic records from the start, most of the sources that describe their selection (such as Jun's bio quoted above) are written in a way that gives the implication they were set apart from their companies only after their training. These things don't have to be mutually exclusive; most likely the final decision was up to a combination of inborn potential (which Kurt and co. would have known from the onset) and skill as observed in practice (which could only be ascertained after training). This leaves more wiggle room for other factors which realistically affect a person's development, and as I said, I don't see how one can divine skills like sniping, leadership, etc. from genes alone.
:I don't. I'm not even 100% sure the person I discussed this with was you, though. --Jugus (talk) 08:24, 7 April 2017 (EDT)

== Potential re-evaluation of UNSC Navy Uniform subcategories ==
Ever since the release of Halo 2: Anniversary, I've had a sneaking suspicion that some of the navy uniforms may have been misidentified - a working uniform listed as a service uniform, for example.
I made a post about it over on the Navy Uniform talk page where I go into detail. However, as I am a novice Wiki contributor and the potential revision is quite large, I thought it best to seek out a more experienced contributor and consult a moderator before making any changes.

The Covenant[edit]
Sorry, is that not how you operate on this wiki? On the wiki that I am a dedicated user on, we like to incluse the 's in the links if that makes sense? - SSJ4 Lewich 15:21, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Your edit wasn't grammatically correct. The sentence was talking about two Phantoms, in plural, while the apostrophe you added would indicate a possessive. That's not the case here.--Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 15:25, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
Oh whoops. I did not mean to add the apostrophe, so would just have putting the s into the link be acceptable? Sorry about that SSJ4 Lewich 15:33, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
- I don't see how that would be necessary; the s is already there. The whole word will still function as a link even if the "s" is not included inside the link itself. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 15:38, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
"hint"[edit]
Just so you know... they've been hinting at a sequel since a ComicCon in 2008 - the one with the Halo Wars guys and that guy that wrote The Cole Protocol. Eric was there taking questions, and he said that he'd love to finish off that story. Bungie was busy in 2009, but they never denounced a sequel. Perhaps they wanted to make sure there weren't too many projects going at once, or it would turn into the Star Wars expanded universe,-- Forerunner 09:32, July 2, 2010 (UTC)
- That looks suitable enough for an article. Though, we'll have to make sure "Untitled Ghosts of Onyx Sequel" doesn't get created until we get a full confirmation. I don't think we should go like "Halo: Reach" and "Halo Blue" (ODST) and be up before it's announced.-- Forerunner 09:37, July 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Alternatively, we could create it now and just protect it. Anyway, it seems that they have been waiting for a time when there aren't multiple projects going on. Reach and the trilogy are okay, seeing as how they don't conflict with the Onyx storyline in anyway.-- Forerunner 09:41, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

Moving help[edit]
Hi, Jugus,
There are two redirects that need to be reversed. They are:
- Kestrel → Kestrel (Ship) (doesn't need the "(ship)" because there's only one other "Kestrel" page)
- Araqiel → Araquiel (correct spelling given in FS is "Araqiel")
I'm not sure I can move these, b/c there's already a page at the other end. Can you delete Kestrel and Araqiel and move the latter two pages to those titles?
And is there any other way I can reverse redirects like this in the future, or does it always require an admin to delete the page?

Spoilers question[edit]
Hi, Jugus,
I just had a quick question regarding the Spoiler policy for Reach. Well, two actually:
1) When using the HideSpoiler template (after the game's release), should the template encompass the entire article (i.e. including infoboxes, etc.) or should it just encompass the text?
2) Does it matter if the title in itself is a spoiler? For example, let's say I created an article called "The Battle of Installation 00" a day after the release of Halo 3. According to the Spoiler policy, the HideSpoilers template should solve any issues w/ someone who hasn't bought the game, but in this case, the title itself could ruin the game for them.
Thanks,

You missed something....[edit]
I suppose you uploaded issue #2 of Boot Camp? Anyway, the issue #2 cover is the scene from Halo: The Fall of Reach when Samuel pretends to have a hurt knee. Can you please like, cut a pic of that and put it in Samuel-034's infobox? Lt. Commander SPARTAN-A110 | [ COM/S ] [ LOG/S ]
Sorry about the mess[edit]
Emote! XP
Yeah, I think it's time to clarify that not all ships in the Halo Universe are starships. Thus, I think this is the time to fix this error that was created back in 2007. The next plan would be to implement Template:Ship class infobox into Class-specific vessels (i.e. Ket-pattern battlecruiser, UNSC frigate). This does not include individual ships (i.e. UNSC Forward Unto Dawn). This is simply to eliminate redundancy due to overuse of similar field and information. Just bear with me on this one. :P - 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 16:32, 23 November 2010 (EST)
- Yeah, thanks for clearing that up. I was just confused since we already had a category for ships and because I thought the distinction between ocean-borne or exoatmospheric vessels would warrant them two distinct categories - although having them all in one category makes sense considering the tiny number of conventional ships in the Halo universe.
- As for the emote, thought that occasion was special enough to use one. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 16:36, 23 November 2010 (EST)
Hey, I see what you mean, that Plasma turrets fire plasma torpedoes, but if you go on the Ket-pattern battlecruiser page it mentions the armaments of having 'plasma torpedo launchers'. This is actually an error - you are right - plasma turrets are capable of firing other things. Therefore I think page that makes reference to a specific 'plasma torpedo launcher' should be edited to plasma turrets. Agreed? AlexB1001 11:44, 7 December 2010 (EST)
Re:Unused files[edit]
I admittedly didn't think this problem would pop up. I instructed Datadeleter and several other users to mark those files for deletion so I could mop them up with Nicbot to make the job easier (its impossible to delete all those files with a human admin). As it is I never realised some files were used in templates or why they're showing up as unused when they're not, so I'll take the blame for that one. In the meantime I advise the editors to continue with care, while is there some way we list out all of the images that are actually in-use? - Nìcmávr (Tálk) 13:49, 19 December 2010 (EST)
- Could we make a template, say something similar to the "hang on" template on Wikipedia, so that it says "This image, while unused, is <good-quality/is already being used/should be used in an article>". Then, we could make a category similar to Special:Wantedpages that would show images that needed to be added into articles. The template could also be added onto the Era images, etc, so they don't get deleted. / / STRYKER [ COM | LOG/M | LOG/S | AAU/HUM ] 14:29, 19 December 2010 (EST)
Viery[edit]
While I understand what you were doing on the Battle of Viery article, I would like to bring a similar event to your attention.
During the Battle of Hat Yai, Covenant ships exited Slipspace once their assistance was required.
Based on this, we can assume that these ships were at the very least nearby when the battle commenced, which may suggest that the Covenant may keep some ships within slipspace to avoid advertising their true size.
It is also interesting to note that during the Battle of Onyx, the Covenant reinforcements arrive just before the UNSC defeats them.
Similarly, the Covenant supercarrier Long Night of Solace during the Fall of Reach only made itself known once the UNSC began to cut into the Covenant outposts. Again in that battle, it was not until the supercarrier was destroyed and its accompanying corvette sent into slipstream space that the fleet made itself known. In the corvette's control room, you can see symbols over the planet Reach - I believe these to represent the co-ordinates that each ship is preparing to jump to.
Would this be considered a common-enough Covenant action to be considered a genuine military strategy of theirs?-- Forerunner 09:27, 20 December 2010 (EST)
- Furthermore, I'd like to take note that the commanding officer does not need to be actually present to coordinate the battle. Field Marshall Sir Douglas Haig was miles away from the front of the Great War when conducting battle plans, for instance. Being the commanding officer of the Fleet of Particular Justice, it becomes clear that Thel would have authority over their actions. Furthermore, being a "supreme commander", he would have authority over both naval and armed forces during the campaign.-- Forerunner 09:38, 20 December 2010 (EST)
Cryptum info[edit]
Hi, Jugus. A few things about Cryptum:
- I saw that you added Halo: The Flood to the appearances in the ancilla article. Can you give me a page reference/quote please? I'm just kind of curious.
- I don't have access to the chapter 1 excerpt, so can you add information from ch. 1 to the Florian and Hamanune articles (I'm assuming they're explained earlier in the book)?
Thanks. / / STRYKER [ COM | LOG/M | LOG/S | AAU/HUM ] 20:11, 22 December 2010 (EST)
SPARTAN teams[edit]
During field operations, the SPARTAN-IIs available separate into teams with the designations of "red" and "blue". However, the roster is not organised, and neither is the size. Basically, a team consists of SPARTANs who aren't already chosen arbitrarily to be deployed with another team. While "Red" was on Arcadia, "Blue" was elsewhere - the names only appear to be in use to differentiate SPARTANs by mission. Therefore, should we really refer to Red and Blue teams as though they had a concistent existence, or as a number of units inheriting the same designation? Any team could be set up and called "Red".-- Forerunner 10:29, 27 December 2010 (EST)

Colonies[edit]
Thanks for expressing your views. From what I've gathered from the novels and encyclopædia, all (or most) colonies are independent, though the UE appears to have a lot of influence over them. I believe the UNSC to be under UN juristiction as opposed to solely Earth's, with the "United Earth Space Corps" that Johnson joined being the site of Earth-based units.I chose "human" over "UNSC colonies" because of this along with other reasons like the ancient civilisation and insurrectionist colonies like Eridanus Secundus.-- Forerunner 09:34, 19 January 2011 (EST)
- I personally doubt that the UNSC would surrender control after the war - they'd have to take part in the rebuilding, and urban warzones would need to be under martial law to prevent robbery. Eventually, they should of course surrender control back to the governments, as the threat of insurrectionist activity only intensified upon UNSC interference; that fear returned in the post-war period.-- Forerunner 10:16, 19 January 2011 (EST)

- New citation format
Halo: The Fall of Reach, page 54; (2010), page 71-72

Re: war[edit]
My apologies - I assumed that it was relating to human-San 'Shyuum affairs - it's not too far from a page that predicts the collapse of the military alliance soon after the Forerunner's war, had there been no conflict - it was judged that humans were so bigoted that they would turn on their own allies. What about the main article - it says "wars" as opposed to "war".-- Forerunner 09:44, 29 May 2011 (EDT)
- War; wars; conflict - anything to avoid an actual name. I know of only one confirmed conflict and that was just the general counter-invasion response from a third party. Spartan Userbox Issue[edit]

Kinect in Halo Anniversary[edit]
I have been trying to add information about the game using Kinect. Phil Spencer from Microsoft came out and said that it would use Kinect in some way and 343 confirmed this, stating that it would be an optional feature. When I add the information to the page Halofan1234 removes it as he believes it is unnecessary. I believe that as it is a feature in the game, it should be mentioned. Hi, could you please move Deathmatch (Halo Wars) to Deathmatch? Since there's no other title named "Deathmatch", it doesn't make sense to have the parentheses. Thanks.-- Col. Spartacus Talk Page Contributions 14:31, 23 April 2012 (EDT)

Oh that number of ships[edit]
We have two images of the Second Fleet of Homogenous Clarity: and . Covie1 is more detailed thanks to our friend Kronos, while -7-'s image shows more ships, indicating how menacing the fleet really was. I was thinking of deleting the latter and keeping former, since the former was being used in two other pages already. What's your opinion, should we keep both? :D —S331 (COM • Mission Log • Profile) 11:13, 20 May 2012 (EDT)
- Oh, alright then. I didn't know about the high-res version too until I looked up the Regret level article, so it was pretty reasonable and easy to miss. :) —S331 (COM • Mission Log • Profile) 12:04, 20 May 2012 (EDT)

CSG[edit]
CSG Invite
Couldn't tell if you had an Xbox Live account, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Hope you can join! -Killjax
- I do indeed have a Live account, just not a very active one at that. I've been on the fence about joining since you re-started CSG - it's just that I have very little interest in competitive multiplayer, and would most likely get dominated at it by superior MP players. As an avid campaign player, though, I am looking forward to Spartan Ops and could see myself playing it with people from here. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 01:46, 24 October 2012 (EDT)
- ...would most likely get dominated... Come on Jugus, that shouldn't be the reason for you to join! Its Community Social Gaming! Not Superior Competitive Gaming! Its going to be fun! I'm not that good of a player myself, but I'm not worried. Just gaming it up with Halopedians on Halo 4. Sure we might get slightly competitive and serious in order to beat the other team, but that's the fun in it all. We just socialize and have a great time. Just don't focus on it... except, you know, the scope of the battle rifle :D
- However, if you still feel skeptical about it, that's fine, sign up for Spartan Ops!

New Human Pic[edit]

- I wonder if there's a way to arrange the Marines and Navy crew aboard the Infinity to create a new version of this pic in Halo 4. That could also be handy. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 01:48, 3 December 2012 (EST)
Ah, forgot about no H4 campaign theater. Too bad. I wasn't suggesting that a crowd shot should replace the main image anyway. We should follow Wikipedia's example, and they keep it to just a few folks on their Human article. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 02:49, 3 December 2012 (EST)
Two covenant ship articles need to be merged[edit]
—This unsigned comment was made by Pulsar47 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- We've considered this in the past (in fact we previously had the Harvest ship under the Covenant battleship page) but because of the lack of sufficient proof stating they're indeed the same—as well as the different designation given for the Harvest ship in Evolutions—we treat the two ships as different. It's a real possibility that they're different names for the same class, but because the Covenant are known to have multiple ship types that look similar and have similar armaments it's better to be on the safe side and consider them separate unless proven otherwise. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 00:14, 6 May 2015 (EDT)
Listing[edit]
Wondering if this page should become a more overall list recording changes made in all rereleases. This would allow us to record neutral changes from the Fall, Flood, and First Strike reprints, and possibly the upcoming Fall of Reach animated adaptation. What do you think? Tuckerscreator(stalk) 14:33, 29 June 2015 (EDT)
- Possibly. To prevent making the page too long, however (and to avoid difficulties coming up with a suitable title), we could also make the changes in the novel reprints and the changes in the different adaptations of TFoR into two separate pages. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 23:38, 29 June 2015 (EDT)
Spartan IVs augmentations[edit]
—This unsigned comment was made by 67.52.246.42 (talk • contribs). - Canonical sources DO make it clear that the Spartan-IVs do not reach performance levels as high as Spartan-II, for a number of reasons.
- Sources also make it clear that the IVs have advantages - because they had a normal life before volunteering, they can better relate to non-Spartans than their predecessors could.
- We're not painting the Spartans as inferior knockoffs because we don't like them. We're showing that they're different to their predecessors in important ways, all of which are based on canonical sources.
- Sorry for beating you to the punch, Jugus! -- Qura 'Morhek The Autocrat of Morheka 06:01, 25 July 2015 (EDT)
- @Morhek: well said, you covered pretty much what I was going to say anyway. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 09:00, 26 July 2015 (EDT)

Grim's statements on Halo 5 Elites[edit]
Hey, I noticed you were looking for a source regarding the variety of Elites present in Halo 5. I found a few of Grim's statements on the matter.

Installation 07 image on Fractures[edit]
Hi Jugus. A guy added an image (the cover of Fractures) that is almost certainly Installation 07 but it's completely different than what we have seen so far. Installation 07 is depicted as an orange desert in previous games but in that image it looks more like Installation 04. Should it be added on the main infobox page since it's newer or not? Here is the discussion. Lautrec of Carim |contribs| 07:51, 21 September 2016 (EDT)
- You probably noticed it already, but that's actually how Installation 07 looked at one time (and how it looks now, according to Halo: Hunters in the Dark). The hologram in Halo 3 has been established to have been out of date. --Jugus (talk) 10:31, 21 September 2016 (EDT)
Project Chrysanthemum[edit]
- I just think the source material leaves too much to interpretation to make a definitive statement, especially when no source expressly states they were picked solely due to their genetics (though that was likely a contributing factor in many cases).
- My main point is that why would you set someone apart on the basis of their theoretical predisposition for an ability, rather than that ability itself? Kurt and Mendez had the opportunity to study both of those things, so it hardly makes sense they'd discard one of them entirely. It would be much more advantageous to look at the whole picture of the candidate rather than just one aspect of them.
- I'm not dismissing genetics as a contributing factor here; I'm merely saying it doesn't really make any sense to have been the only selection criterion in that scenario, especially when you're picking people based on abstract traits like leadership, sharpshooting, reconnaissance, etc - how do you even begin to measure those from genes alone? In many cases a natural inclination and practical skill will likely correlate, but the thing about genetics is that they don't always express themselves in clear-cut ways and there are other, random factors which may influence the outcome. (This is obviously different from the program's selection criteria as a whole, which were about augmentation survival rates, thus making genetics of paramount importance in that case.)
- In addition, most of the source material is written in a way that suggests the "cat-2s" were chosen after their training, which suggests observation of their skills in practice; if the selection was solely genetic, each Spartan's fate could've been decided before they first stepped on Onyx.
- I do frequent the Halo Archive at least and have posted on Reddit a few times (where I think I actually discussed this very topic with you once).
- That's what I was saying.
- I don't. I'm not even 100% sure the person I discussed this with was you, though. --Jugus (talk) 08:24, 7 April 2017 (EDT)
Wiki splits[edit]
Hi Jugus,
Wondering if you can help me out. I'm Agent C from Nukapedia, the Fallout wiki that is still on Wikia. I don't know if you've heard about our little problem with wikia, and we're looking at all available options. I was wondering if someone from when your wiki split/move/fork/(whatever the preferred term is) was around to talk to us about the technical aspects of it, as we are considering all available options. I see your wiki's using Discord, and we've found it useful for the process, you can reach me (and the guys who are looking into this option) here on ours. Thanks for any help you and your guys can offer. Agent c (talk) 17:08, 12 September 2017 (EDT)
- I read this, sent it to relevant people like porple and the other admins. And also joined to see the process go along.-CIA391 (talk) 22:01, 12 September 2017 (EDT)
Resignation[edit]
Due to work situations and a lack of means to keep up with current Halo media, I'm afraid I can't be involved as a Halopedia administrator anymore. My apologies for exiting and for taking this long to say so, and thanks a bunch to you and this wiki's community. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 03:07, 13 October 2017 (EDT)
- Do you want to be made a Patroller in the off-chance you want to help out here and there, something similar to Spartacus where he just pops by to help, but not in a full capacity at all? Just asking so we can make the relevant arrangements. :) Regardless I wish you the best, and hope you still pop by now and then to say hey. -CIA391 (talk) 03:58, 13 October 2017 (EDT)
- Thanks y'all. Patroller can work. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 00:10, 14 October 2017 (EDT)
[edit]
Ever since the release of Halo 2: Anniversary, I've had a sneaking suspicion that some of the navy uniforms may have been misidentified - a working uniform listed as a service uniform, for example.
I made a post about it over on the Navy Uniform talk page where I go into detail. However, as I am a novice Wiki contributor and the potential revision is quite large, I thought it best to seek out a more experienced contributor and consult a moderator before making any changes.
Might I trouble you to take a look?
