*As platoons are not given permanent numerical designations, it is commonly assumed that the 105th was in fact the "105th's drop jet platoon", although a division would reasonably have more than one such unit.
*Although it is assumed that the platoon is an ODST platoon due to the 'drop jet' title there is no actual evidence in the book that they are ODSTs. They could possibly be "parachutists" equipped with [[Parafoil]]s instead. The 105th Drop Jet Platoon saw action against the Covenant military ground forces during the Battle of Jericho VII in February 2535 where it was overrun and obliterated by a force of around a thousand Unggoy. The unit's annihilation would later be avenged when the offending Unggoy were eliminated by SPARTAN-IIs, led by Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, in the continued skirmishes of Jericho VII.[1]
