Headcase is a multiplayer medal in Halo: Reach and Halo 4 when a player kills a sprinting opponent with a head shot. The medal was retouched by designer Dave Candland and was revealed post-beta along with several new and updated medals in the 05/28/10 Bungie Weekly update.[1] The medal was altered again for Halo 4: the skull went from purple to white, the target from white to blue and red, and the background changed from a six-pointed gold star to a blue circle on a grey cross.
