Go Ape Shiv is an achievement in Halo 2 for Windows Vista and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It is unlocked by killing an enraged, berserking Brute by melee. The achievement can be unlocked on any difficulty.
In the Vista version, it is worth 20 Gamerscore and is represented by a 16-pointed star with a Jiralhanae's fist on top. In The Master Chief Collection, it is only worth Gamerscore (On XBone) and is represented by a six-pointed star with a Brute wearing a helmet on it. Unlocking the achievement in the Master Chief Collection also unlocks a screenshot of Tartarus raising the Fist of Rukt in Installation 05's Control Room.
Tips[edit]
- The Energy Sword and Brute Shot both dramatically improve the player's melee power and yet are both still considered melee kills. As such they will unlock this achievement.
- Players may wish to attempt the achievement on lower difficulties, as berserking Brutes become very dangerous on Heroic and Legendary.
