Dr. Halsey wouldn't have fallen for a fake disease, so Borons must exist and have been a good enough excuse for non assimulation by the Flood. ::I just checked both editions of the Encyclopedia. Nowhere does it stated that Boren's Syndrome is fake. ::There's this one thing I've been wondering, and that is how does being a Spartan-I make one immune to the Flood? Even if Johnson had augmentations, how does that counteract the Flood infection? Is it just a some kind of weird coincidence, with the UNSC "accidentally" creating a total immunity to the Flood. Or is there something I'm missing here? --Jugus 20:48, December 3, 2009 (UTC) | ::There's this one thing I've been wondering, and that is how does being a Spartan-I make one immune to the Flood? :::According to what Halsey said, it could be because the infection forms can't find a match for... something. Perhaps it's because their biology is so messed up the Flood doesn't recognize their physiology and the supercells can't infect them. I know I'm probably missing something, but it's all conjecture at this point, so there's no reason to truly debate it. --Do not insult me. 20:52, December 3, 2009 (UTC) | :::According to what Halsey said, it could be because the infection forms can't find a match for... something. :::My best guess would be that Johnson's neurological condition affected the initial infection spores, scrambling their genetic replication code and making them dormant, and that other Flood forms sense this and perceive him as already infected - in a sense, he really is. Its just that the infection hasn't converted him. As such, the mixed signals means that while Flood don't try to infect him, they still perceive him as a threat, and react as usual. -- <b><font color=indigo>Specops306</font></b> <u><i><font color=blue>Autocrat</font></i></u> <u><i><font color=purple>Qur'a 'Morhek</font></i></u> 18:57, 5 December 2011 (EST) |

Is it actually fake? I know that it was used as a cover for Johnson but i didn't think the disease was fake. Dr. Halsey wouldn't have fallen for a fake disease, so Borons must exist and have been a good enough excuse for non assimulation by the Flood. 217.42.247.171 16:16, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
- Yup, it's fake. It was stated to be fake in the Halo Encyclopedia (2009 edition), which also stated that all the Spartan-Is were said to have the illness to cover up their augmentations and involvement in the project. - Halo-343 (Talk) (Contribs) (Edits) 16:22, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

- My best guess would be that Johnson's neurological condition affected the initial infection spores, scrambling their genetic replication code and making them dormant, and that other Flood forms sense this and perceive him as already infected - in a sense, he really is. Its just that the infection hasn't converted him. As such, the mixed signals means that while Flood don't try to infect him, they still perceive him as a threat, and react as usual. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 18:57, 5 December 2011 (EST)
