Perilous Journey is the fifth track in Halo: Original Soundtrack.
Overview[edit]
The track is composed of an upbeat tribal percussion, accompanied by short rhythmic high strings and long flowing low strings in the background. Near the middle of the track, the low strings plays the first phrase of the Gregorian chant from the Halo Theme.
Appearances[edit]
The soundtrack can be heard:
- In the level The Pillar of Autumn, after John-117 encounters the first group of Covenant to board UNSC Pillar of Autumn through the use of the lifeboat airlocks.
- In the level Assault on the Control Room when John-117 comes across the last group of Marines of Fireteam Zulu, and lead them to their eventual location to be evacuated.
- At the beginning of the level Two Betrayals as the Aggressor Sentinels attack John-117 in the control room.
Arrangements[edit]
The track was arranged into the following:
- Make Them Pay of Farthest Outpost in Halo 3: Original Soundtrack.
- First Step in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Original Soundtrack.
Perilous Journey also served as the basis for the track Peril in Halo 2: Original Soundtrack.[1]
