Although of human origin, the regenerator's operating function bears resemblance to many other battlefield technologies used by both humanity and various alien civilisations of the galaxy. Most deployable equipment created by humanity was reverse-engineered from captured Covenant technology, which was in itself reverse-engineered from Forerunner sources; something which presumably also applies to the regenerator.

The Regenerator functions just like the Bubble Shield even though it emits a small, green field of energy which restores a player's shield as well as anybody near you, including enemies, for 15 Seconds. There is, however, a small delay before beginning the recharge, which means the player is still vulnerable, and you are vulnerable to weapons which can kill the player in one shot. It also is less effective if a lot of enemies are firing at you. It is the exact opposite of the Power Drain and when it is used in the same area as a Power Drain, the Power Drain overpowers the regenerator. Other ways in which the regenerator is dissimilar from the Power Drain is that the regenerator remains rooted in the same spot where it is deployed while the Power Drain can move around.

Trivia
Other similar equipment include the UNSC's own restoration drones, dome shield armour ability, and Repair Field equipment, alongside various Forerunner technologies - most pertinently the appropriately-named Spire of Healing. The UNSC's post-war M2705 regeneration field armour ability bears an almost identical operation to the regenerator, though whether the two have any explicit connection is unknown.

*Brutes have a tendency to throw out Regenerators to help repair the impact diffusion feature of their Power Armor.
Usage
*If you stand near a regenerator, you will hear your heart pulsating. The same applies in Halo: Combat Evolved where when you have one bar of health you can hear your rapid heartbeat.
As expected given its origin, the regenerator is commonly used by UNSC personnel - predominantly energy shield-equipped infantry such as Spartans. However, Jiralhanae troops were known to frequently capture and use regenerators to repair their own power armor during the war.
*When in a regenerator with an opponent, melee, don't shoot, it's a much more effective way to take down your opponents.
*If you stick a Spike Grenade to a regenerator it will spin around with it.
*In Forge, if you fix the respawn rate so that when you lay one down another automatically respawns, and if you keep laying them down, you will get practically unlimited health.
*Just like the Bubble Shield, the regenerator is akin and adjacent to the Power Drain is usage.
*A bug with the regenerator is to get your shields down (while inside the shield's 'current') and you'll hear a scream as if you died or got shot at when your shields are down.
*A well timed regenerator can act as somewhat of an invincibility, but more like a lifeline than anything.
*You can still be killed with a headshots from a Sniper or Beam Rifle inside the regenerators field, as well as from Spartan Laser/Rocket Launcher/Fuel Rod Gun and grenades.
*The design of the regenerator looks very similar to that of the Bubble Shield.
*Do not be mistaken that the regenerator is equivelant to temporary immortality. A hail of accurate bullets will still kill you.

*Using the regenerator in conjunction with short range weapons leaves you almost invincible.
Four melee strikes to the base of the regenerator will destroy it prematurely, alongside shooting at it with a weapon. If placed down in conjunction with a power drain, the power drain's effects override the regenerator's, and the player will still lose their shields. However, if multiple regenerators are placed in Forge, their effects will stack and effectively allow the player a brief form of invincibility.
*When you are being attacked with grenades, a regenerator leaves you very hard to kill with grenades (except if you are directly stuck with a Plasma Grenade or Spike Grenade).
*Despite people thinking you are unbeatable within the regenerator's green proximity glow you can be killed by a powerful weapon, such as a Battle Rifle or Covenant Carbine. The Spartan or Elite that deployed the regenerator can withstand body shots by the Carbine or Battle Rifle but can fall victim to straight headshots.
*When using the regenerator to quickly recover from an instant shield dropping blow, if in teams its best to drop the regenerator and have somebody drop a Bubble Shield. But if in FFA, it would be smart to drop it in a hard to reach place, like one of the Shotgun corners in the Pit.
*If your being ambushed using the regenerator will probably save your life.

The regenerator is a piece of equipment used and developed by the United Nations Space Command.[1]

Overview[edit]

Design details[edit]

The regenerator takes the form of a battlefield equipment implement similar in nature to the Z-4190 bubble shield. It consists of a quadrupedal base, atop which sits a green, diamond-shaped emitter module. When activated, the emitter spins, glows bright green and projects an energy field capable of recharging energy shielding for nearby troops - both friendly and enemy.[2][3] Regenerators generally self-destruct once their duration is finished,[4] though in at least some circumstances they are capable of being recharged and reused.[2][3]

Although of human origin, the regenerator's operating function bears resemblance to many other battlefield technologies used by both humanity and various alien civilisations of the galaxy. Most deployable equipment created by humanity was reverse-engineered from captured Covenant technology, which was in itself reverse-engineered from Forerunner sources; something which presumably also applies to the regenerator.[1]

Usage[edit]

As expected given its origin, the regenerator is commonly used by UNSC personnel - predominantly energy shield-equipped infantry such as Spartans. However, Jiralhanae troops were known to frequently capture and use regenerators to repair their own power armor during the war.[1]

In-game information[edit]

Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST[edit]

The regenerator is similar in design to the bubble shield, although instead of projecting a shield, it emits a green field of energy which restores a player's shield as well as those of anybody near the player, including enemies, for fifteen seconds. There is, however, a small delay before beginning the recharge, which means the player is still vulnerable. Although players may be healed quickly and have a better chance at surviving a one-on-one battle, players can still be killed with a headshot (with a Sniper Rifle) or at close range with a Shotgun.

In Halo 3: ODST, the regenerator retains the same gameplay as it did in Halo 3, though is now unuseable by the player.
