Liberty Street, a section of Sector 0-5, was a district of Old Mombasa on planet Earth. The area consisted mainly of dilapidated low-rise buildings, housing projects, and small businesses.[1][2]
History[edit]
On October 20, 2552, the entire area was the center of heavy fighting between the UNSC and the Covenant during the Battle of Mombasa in the Battle of Earth. Forces from the UNSC In Amber Clad were dispatched to Liberty Street, including the Master Chief. They were able to clear much of the area from the Covenant invaders, and chased a Protos-pattern Scarab into New Mombasa.[2]
Even after the High Prophet of Regret initiated a Slipspace jump over New Mombasa, Liberty Street proved to have excellent ambush points, once the Covenant took control of the planet.[1]
Government[edit]
Elements of the district were connected to the Superintendent.[3] Trash cans managed by the New Mombasa Waste Management were placed in areas of the district.[2] The Unified Earth Government also maintained a storage facility in Liberty Street.[3]
Economy[edit]
There are numerous businesses located in Liberty Street. They include:
