Hail to the King is a Halo 3, Halo: Reach and Halo 4 multiplayer medal awarded during a King of the Hill match for killing 5 opponents in a row from inside the hill before it moves to another location in the map.
In Halo 3 and Reach it is represented by a steel four-pointed star with a blue crown in the middle. In Halo 4 it is represented by a crown will five stars on the points of a crown atop a hill on a grey triangle.
Hail to the King is considered to be one of the hardest non-Legendary medals to earn because players who control the hill are targeted by all other enemy players. Skill and teamwork are key to earning this medal.
Trivia[edit]
- The name may be a reference to the film "Army of Darkness, as it is one Ash's most famous catchphrases. It may also be a reference to Duke Nukem, as it is one of his many catch-phrases.
- This is the only spree medal without a corresponding 10-kill medal.
- In the Halo Reach Beta, the medal had no accompanying image.
- In Halo 3 the medal is much more easily gained in Mosh Pit than in Crazy King, because the Hill won't move, everyone in the Hill is stronger, and the person in the Hill can kill people outside the Hill and still get the medal. Another way of getting this award is if you have an Energy Sword, Shotgun, Noob Combo or Mauler and an Overshield and just get some kills.
