Interesting, no? I thought Derelict might be some other Forerunner remnant (considering that there are windows on all sides and Halo is no where to be seen), but if the MP guide is right about it being part of Halo... that means that Deep-Space Anomaly #0198 is Halo. | Interesting, no? Atmosphere[edit]
Also, somebody should include the fact that the atmosphere must contain oxygen, or the Elites would not be able to breathe in it, although the oxygen levels must be much lower than normal, since the Heretic Elites where respirators, suggesting that you need them for long term survival. Also there may be methane in the atmosphere, since the Heretic Grunts are breathing the light blue gas that is being mined.
Also the planet has a core of nitrogen or hydrogen.
Earth Survey Catalogue[edit]
Google and wikipedia doesn't reveal anything called the "Earth Survey Catalog", and I don't know of any mention of it in the books or games.--Raptor117 23:57, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Yeah. Looking through the history, I think User:Dragonclaws added it. He may made it up, but I dunno. --Geoffron 21:41, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't add it. I marked it as dubious. It looks like User:Esemono added it. --Dragonclaws(talk) 21:45, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
To tell you the truth I don't remember adding this but looking at the time I probably just copied it over from the old.Halopedia. HOWEVER, a two second google search reveals:

This, however, may possibly aggravate speculation regarding the practical meanings of the name "Threshold"; that it is/contains a "gate", door, portal, etc. What could the Humans have known about this planet and moon before visiting, and without a more extensive knowledge of the system's contents and operations?

Given that Threshold has also been recorded in UNSC logs as "Earth Survey Catalogue Number B1008-AG, nick-named "Threshold"", (this was in the Halo Story Bible) it is reasonable to assume that both Threshold and Halo have been encountered by the UNSC in some form, and probably at the same time.

Threshold and Basis are named because the system was surveyed, though not visited, by Earth astromomers. It says in the book that Threshold is known as "Earth Survey Catalogue Number B1008-AG". So the UNSC knew about the star system and planets, but not Halo....
We need to get that Sybex guide. Until then, we can cite HBO as a source. --Dragonclaws(talk) 17:40, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Googling "b1008.ag" turned up this PDF of the relevant chapter. --Andrew Nagy 22:31, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
