Biography[edit]

Fall of Reach[edit]

Hosky was present on the UNSC Pillar of Autumn when it fled from the planet Reach at the end of the Fall of Reach in August 2552.[1]

Battle of Installation 04[edit]

Main article: Battle of Installation 04

Sometime after the Pillar of Autumn crashed on Installation 04, Hosky accompanied the Master Chief during the assault on The Silent Cartographer. During the engagement, he rode shotgun on John-117's Warthog during his second run to the map room. As they neared the front door of the facility, two Hunters attacked before the Marines could run for cover. Hosky and the Corporal were then both killed by Ogada Nosa Fasu; Hosky was killed by getting rammed by Fasu's shield (which broke many bones and threw him to the ground) and having his face crushed by the heavy boot of the Hunter.[1]

This brought the Master Chief personal grief for what he saw as his own fault, as he thought that he should have anticipated the possibility of the Hunters.[1]

Appearance, personality and traits[edit]

Hosky was a young freckle faced marine.[1]

Production notes[edit]

In the original edition of Halo: The Flood, Hosky and the other marines at beach were called "Helljumpers", this was changed to "Marines" in the 2010 editions onward presumably to suit the look of the soldiers in the level The Silent Cartographer in Halo: Combat Evolved who are all dressed as Marines and not Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.
