The Erőd-class orbital weapon platform[3] is a classification of orbital defense platform utilized by the United Nations Space Command. They were prominent as the primary ODP classification present during the defense of Reach.[1][2]
OverviewEdit
The station has a similar overall design to the Moncton-class orbital weapon platform, though lacks the Moncton's large habitation ring surrounding the gun mechanism. Two frigate docks are present to allow a friendly warship to dock at the station. The station itself has a height of around 2,000 metres (6,600 ft),[Note 1] around 1.5× that of the Moncton. The longer acceleration channels on the OWP's spinal coilgun allow the projectile fired an extremely high muzzle velocity, capable of being fired at "point-four-tenths" the speed of light.[4][Note 2]
The outer hull of the station is coated in the dull grey characteristic of Titanium-A battleplate,[1] as opposed to the white durasteel of the Moncton-class.
ArmamentEdit
This class of OWP has equipped a rapid fire Super MAC,[1] that was among the most powerful ever built. The MAC was powered by ground-based reactors.[2]
Stations of the lineEdit
As with Moncton-class orbital weapon platforms over Earth, Erőd-class weapon platforms over Reach are named after cities on the planet below. The Erőd-class itself takes its name from Erőd, a region on the surface of Reach.
- Quezon Station (Named after Quezon)
- The station Casimir Station also shares its name with a city on Reach, indicating it may be part of the same class.
HistoryEdit
During the Fall of Reach, the Covenant targeted the Erőd-class stations and their generators on the surface of the planet.[3]
Halo: Fleet BattlesEdit
UNSC MAC PlatformEdit
This element includes a single ODP.

The MAC has the following special rules:
- Fighter Cover
- ONLY Interceptors can be selected by MAC Platforms. Bombers are not available.
- Vital Defensive Asset
- A maximum of two MAC Platforms per FULL 1000 points are permitted.

Painted MAC platforms alongside an Epoch-class heavy carrier and a trio of Paris-class heavy frigates.
List of appearancesEdit
- Halo: The Fall of Reach (First appearance)
- Halo: Fleet Battles
NotesEdit
- ^ a b c d The Halo: Fleet Battles model for the Erőd measures 10cm in total height (source). Converting this to the game's 1:20,000 scale provides measurements for the station's total size.
- ^ Due to ambiguity in the wording of this statement in the original Fall of Reach book, it is unclear what precise figure the source text intended.
