A group of Marines stand victorious after successfully defending Cairo Station's Hangar A-01 from the Covenant during the Battle of Earth. Dead Sangheili and Unggoy litter the room, and the R'sisho-pattern Tick boarding craft that the Covenant used to enter can be seen docked to the hangar bay.
Hangar A-01 aboard Cairo Station, after having been infiltrated by Covenant boarders.

Hangar A-01, also known as Hangar Bay A, is a generic United Nations Space Command term for one of the two-story Pelican hangar bays on the port side of an orbital defense platform, such as the Cairo.[1]

Cairo Station Hangar A-01[edit]

During the opening actions of the Battle of Earth, Covenant boarders invaded Cairo Station's Hangar A-01 directly. A {{R'sisho-pattern Tick]] had docked and sent forth waves of Unggoy and Sangheili. Marine defenders, equipped with Battle Rifles, SMGs, and even an M247 GPMG turret, were being overwhelmed at their position at the second floor when John-117 came to assist, killing all the Covenant in the bay. John-117 then moved to adjacent Hangar A-02. The Marines suffered only minor casualties. It is here where they witnessed the destruction of the Malta.[1] A single D77-TC Pelican was docked here during the Covenant assault.
