The M808S Main Battle Tank, commonly known as the Scorpion, is a variant of the M808 Scorpion.[2]
Design details[edit]
The M808S Scorpion is armed with a high velocity cannon for engaging enemy vehicles and a medium machine gun for engaging enemy infantry. Scorpions in the field can be upgraded with submunition canister shells that deal heavy damage in a blast radius around their target. Unlike other variants of the M808, the M808S shows notable design differences, featuring a larger, broader turret housing its main cannon, similar to the later M820 Scorpion which succeeded the M808 in general service.[2]
Operational history[edit]
The UNSC Spirit of Fire carried a large complement of M808S Scorpions modified by Serina before 2537. Her improvements include a more efficient armor arrangement, better situational awareness for the operator, and upgrades to the main cannon. Isabel found little room for improvement on this blueprint, but saw possibilities for specialized variants that leverage the chassis for other roles.[2] Scorpions were used by UNSC forces attached to the UNSC Spirit of Fire against Banished forces for control of Installation 00 in April 2559.[1]
Variants[edit]
- Lockdown Scorpion: This variant sports a black color scheme and has a mine plow affixed on the front of the vehicle.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
