The Alpha-Nine series is the retroactive name given to Halo novels focusing on the fireteam Alpha-Nine, written by Matt Forbeck. It consists of Halo: New Blood (2015), and Halo: Bad Blood (2018).
Novels[edit]
Title | Cover | Author | Audio book narrators | Publication | Summary |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Halo: New Blood | Matt Forbeck | Scott Brick | 2015 | Explores the story of the Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck and his squad Alpha-Nine during and after the Human-Covenant War. | |
Halo: Bad Blood | Matt Forbeck | Scott Brick | 2018 | Sees Spartan Edward Buck reform his old squad, Alpha-Nine, to undertake a daring mission following the rise of Cortana's Created. |
Additions[edit]
In the 2016 physical release of Halo: New Blood, a coda was included at the end of the novel. This coda acts as direct set-up for Halo 5: Guardians, explaining how Edward Buck joined Fireteam Osiris before the events of the game.
Continuity[edit]
This series shares narrative connections with Halo 5: Guardians, with the game's events taking place between both stories, directly influencing the events of the second novel, Halo: Bad Blood.
This series also shares a narrative connection with the short story Lessons Learned from Halo: Fractures, with the story's events following Rudolf Schein's attack on the Spartan training station in Halo: New Blood.
