The ONI Warthog is a variant of the M12B Warthog platform employed by the Office of Naval Intelligence.
Design details[edit]
- Main article: M12B Warthog
ONI Warthogs are only superficially similar to standard Warthog variants,[1] offering greatly increased armour protection compared to their regular M12B Warthog counterparts, alongside various forms of unique and experimental weaponry. Currently-observed ONI Warthog variants have been seen in Scout, LRV, Gauss and Rocket configurations with the following modifications;
- Light Reconnaissance Vehicle: M343A2 chaingun loaded with High Explosive Dual Purpose ammunition.[2]
- Light Anti-Armor Vehicle: Experimental M70 Gauss cannon tested during the Requiem Campaign designed to produce a lingering area-of-effect damage upon impact.[3] This mechanism remains classified.[4]
- Light Anti-Aircraft Vehicle: M80 missile launcher capable of locking onto ground vehicles alongside aircraft.[5]
ONI Warthogs, like other ONI vehicles, are coated in a jet black paint job.[6][7]
Usage[edit]
ONI Warthogs are likely employed by ONI Security forces.
Operational history[edit]
An ONI LRV sporting a Vulcan anti-aircraft gun of unknown model was present at the ONI facility on Carrow.[7]
Gameplay[edit]
The ONI Warthog is available for use in the multiplayer of Halo 5: Guardians. In the Warzone mode, it can be called in as a REQ, while it can also be spawned in Forge mode for use in custom games.
The ONI Warthog REQ cards have the following stats;
- Scout
- Chaingun
- Rocket
- Gauss:
ONI Warthogs have 75% more health than a standard Warthog, making them the strongest Warthog type available for use in Halo 5: Guardians.[8]
Trivia[edit]
- An ONI skin identical to the Halo 5: Guardians ONI Warthog color scheme is available as a manufacturer color option for the M12S Warthog CST in Forza Horizon 3, Forza Horizon 4, and Forza Horizon 5.
