Halo: The Master Chief Collection[edit]

Seasons were first introduced to Halo: The Master Chief Collection with the addition of Halo: Reach to the collection in December 2019. Players can earn Spartan Points and spend them in any Season of their choice to claim its rewards. Initially, 343 Industries intended to support the game with seasonal content roughly every two months, planning to give the game ten total seasons.[1] Later in Halo: The Master Chief Collection's lifespan, it was announced that Season 8 will be its last update on a seasonal model, however the game will still receive more updates that are smaller in scope, with additional features, fixes and content, which are going to be released in 2022 and 2023 as they become ready.[2]

Series 3: Recon
The third season was launched with the release of Halo 3: ODST for PC. Titled after Halo 3: ODST's original title (Halo 3: Recon), this season focuses on Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, adding weapon skins and visor colors to Halo 3, while reintroducing ODST's playable Firefight characters, and also adding nameplates. Series 4: Reclaimer
Season 4 was launched with the release of Halo 4 for PC. Titled after the Forerunner term for humanity reclaiming the Mantle, this season brings additional cosmetic customization options to Halo 3 and Halo 4, and nameplates.[3][4] November 16, 2020

Series 5: Anvil
Titled after both the Anvil Initiative and ANVIL Station, Season 5 added the AKIS and Mariner helmets into Halo: Reach, years after being teased in promotional material for the Defiant Map Pack in 2011[5], alongside nameplates and additional cosmetic customization options to Halo: Reach and Halo 3, including 12 armors from the cancelled Halo Online for the latter. Series 6: Raven
Season 6 succeeded Season 5, in April 2021. Named after the ODST team Fireteam Raven, this season included new customization options for Halo 3, including animated visors and nameplates, back accessories, and new armor permutations from Halo: Online, as well as the four ODST armors used by Fireteam Raven in the namesake game. It also added a new map for Halo 3, Waterfall. April 7, 2021

Series 7: Elite
Season 7 succeeded Season 6, in June 2021.[5] Named after the human designation for the Sangheili, the season included seven new armor permutations from Halo Online for the Elites as well as skins for the Type-1 energy sword for Halo 3, alongside vehicle skins and graphical updates for Halo: Combat Evolved, and the Champions Bundle content, weapon skins, armor effects, and the KEYSTONE helmet for Halo 4. It also added a new map for Halo 3, Edge. June 23, 2021

Series 8: Mythic
Season 8 succeeded Season 7, in October 2021.[1] It included new non-canon armors, a new map, new collectibles, and Custom Game Browser support for Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3. October 13, 2021
Series 9 Series 9 was the first Series featuring the new non-seasonal model. It included five new non-canon armor sets and weapons skins for Halo 2: Anniversary, the addition of Poses and in-game subtitles in multiple titles, and other QoL and gameplay content for Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4. It also features the addition of Theater Mode for both Halo 4's Campaign and Spartan Ops. August 31, 2022

Halo Infinite[edit]

Seasonal content for Halo Infinite multiplayer will include armor permutations.[6] Four seasons have been mentioned for the game, though due to its pre-release nature these aspects are subject to change. Like The Master Chief Collection, seasons are expected to last and release every 2–3 months.[7] Unlike The Master Chief Collection, Halo Infinite's Seasonal progress will be based on earning XP via the completion of daily and weekly challenges or spending credits; each unlock across the 100-tier Pass will require the same amount of XP.
