Harvest is a symmetrical layout Halo 4 multiplayer map. It is one of three maps in the Crimson Map Pack.[4]

Universe and lore[edit]

Main article: Harvest

Found in the Epsilon Indi system, Harvest was a chief exporter of agricultural goods throughout human-occupied space for almost a century, until it became the first of many colonies to be destroyed by the Covenant in 2525. Prior to its fall, Harvest’s impressive seven tethers were connected to the orbital space station Tiara and managed by the AI construct Sif.

The tether complex was a series of seven strands mounted just outside of the city of Utgard and terminating many kilometers above the planet’s surface at Tiara Station. Extensive scans of the complex prior to the Human-Covenant War have been uploaded into the War Games simulations for use in training Spartan IV's.[3]

Overview[edit]

Layout[edit]

Each base on both sides of the map is identical in size and shape. On the base map settings of Harvest, both teams get 2 Warthogs, 1 Ghost, and 1 Mongoose. At the back of each base at the bottom there's a lift that'll take players to the very top so they can look across both sides of the base for decent viewing angles. A massive walk way exist on both sides of the base that'll bring players to the center of the map, both the top and bottom. The map has 2 sniper rifles, one for each team that spawn right next to each base, and really long sight lines across both sides of the map with large rock hills that can be used as ramps for Warthogs, Ghost, and Mongooses. Excellent for Snipers as well.[5]

Production notes[edit]

Harvest was one of the earliest maps developed for Halo 4, and used during development as a testbed for the CTF mode. When preparing the map for inclusion in the Crimson Map Pack, 343 aimed to take into account feedback from the launch of Halo 4 for balancing the map.[5]

Trivia[edit]

  • Harvest is the second level in multiplayer to feature a moving train. The first level to feature this was Terminal in Halo 2.
