This article is about gateway on Genesis. For the gateway on Requiem, see The Gate.
The Gateway is a Forerunner structure on the shield world of Genesis. It is located in the coral highlands of the planet, hidden by the region's bio-readings. It serves as a link to the Domain.[2]
History[edit]
Ancient history[edit]
While the Gateway was monitored by the Forerunners, it was rarely used by them. When the Halo Array fired during the Great Purification, the Gateway closed.[2]
Post-war[edit]
However, when Blue Team was brought to Genesis in October 2558, Cortana manipulated them to begin opening the Gateway by activating several consoles.[3] Blue Team was eventually forcibly brought through the Gateway.[1]
After the destruction of the Warden Eternal, the Haruspis sealed the Gateway.[4]
