T'vao is an asteroid in the Y'Deio system and a Kig-Yar colony.[1][2] The T'vaoans, known to humans as Skirmishers, can trace their ancestry there. Myur City is located on the asteroid.[1]
Overview[edit]
Environmental features[edit]
T'vao's environmental conditions are harsher than those on the Kig-Yar homeworld Eayn, including a higher gravity and more dramatic atmospheric shifts. It was capable of becoming baking-hot even by Kig-Yar standards.[3]
Ecology[edit]
T'vao had lush green forests,[4] including fruit trees with roots large enough for Kig-Yar fledglings to trip over, though it is unknown if these were native-grown or introduced.[3] Local Myur City teahouses had entryways formed of woven vines thicker than a T'vaoan's waist and ornamental trees that produced bright orange flowers with the scent of honey gum.[4]
T'vao was home to buzzing insects, including flying beetles,[3] and vendors on the moon sold coiled roast snake, threaded loops of small rodents, and other meats to passersby.[4]
The environmental factors on T'vao led to the T'vaoan Kig-Yar experiencing a considerable divergent evolution from the two other major subtypes of Kig-Yar.[5] Male Kig-Yar from T'vao have much heavier upper body plumage than other Kig-Yar, while females from T'vao have a ruff of feathers on their heads and necks instead of scales.
