Line Installation 9-12 is one of the many fortifications that make up the Forerunners' Jat-Krula sphere, often translated as the "Maginot Line". The remains of human and Covenant vessels are strewn about the installation, but there are also ships belonging to undiscovered species.[1]
After the Human-Covenant War, scavengers found this site, but they were shot down by the installation. They created makeshift camps and hoped that they could find treasure. No help came and they eventually died on this world. Their transmissions contained detailed environment scans that were used by the UNSC to replicate the Line Installation in a War Games simulation aboard the UNSC Infinity.[1]
Production notes[edit]
Line Installation 9-12 is the location of the Halo 4 multiplayer map Wreckage. While only referred to as a Line installation in the in-game description, it was given an official designation in Halo 4: The Essential Visual Guide.[1]
