The Launcher Unit-1810/Self-Guided Missile-151[1], or LAU-1810/SGM-151, was a missile launcher used by the United Nations Space Command during the later years of the Human-Covenant War.[2]

Overview[edit]

Design details[edit]

The LAU-1810/SGM-151 missile launcher is a shoulder-mounted launching system, capable of holding up to three self-guided, high-explosive missiles.[3] The weapon was integrated into the right shoulders of both the Mark I and Mark I [J] armor defense systems.[2][4]

Operational history[edit]

The LAU-1810/SGM-151 was employed during the Algolis Invasion. During the battle, a Marine with the call sign "Ghost" took the research facility's Mark I ADS prototype, and used it in defense of the civilians and fellow Marines still on the planet. Ghost used the suit's mounted LAU-1810/SGM-151 to shoot down several Irdnekt-pattern Banshees before he was overwhelmed by the invaders. He then activated the suit's nuclear self-destruct system, destroying himself, the suit and all nearby Covenant forces.[3]

Although the Algolis research facility was destroyed in the battle, data was recovered from its ruins and used to create the Mark I [J] "Green Machine", which appears to integrate a weapon visually akin to the LAU-1810/SGM-151.[4][5]
