Halo Wars 5 long years trailer[edit]
Is this the battle of the trailer?--Bive 06:02, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Civilian Casualties[edit]
Was the total number of civilian deaths 23,000 or closer to 40,000? Because I saw another page citing the latter number which is why I made the earlier edit. Sorry about that, by the way.262VigilantGuardian (talk) 21:25, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
- The way you stuck the 40,000 figure in made it look like it says "23,000-40,000" in the Halo Encyclopedia. The Halo Encyclopedia says "23,000" so you needed to provide a source for the 40,000 figure. Which page did you see 40,000 on?-- Rusty-112 Admin comm 21:32, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
Actually, it was the entry for the planet Harvest itself. It says 40,000 according to the snippet on the escape from the planet's destruction. It cites Halo: Contact Harvest as its source. Could this be another one of those instances where the written sources were not completely in line with each other?262VigilantGuardian (talk) 22:06, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
- I checked the page and its source. The book clearly says 20,000 people were killed when the Tiara snapped, not 40,000. Though that does mean that the vast majority weren't directly killed by the Covenant but rather in the collapse when they fled. The Covenant would have only directly killed 3000 people.-- Rusty-112 Admin comm 22:31, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
Okay, so it may have just been a typo I was misled by.
They "directly killed" only 3000?262VigilantGuardian (talk) 22:46, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
- There were 23,000 human casualties. 20,000 were killed while evacuating; their containers were on one of the Tiara's space elevators when it snapped, killing everyone on board. This means that only 3000 were killed by Covenant fire, representing 13% of total casualties. I'm not saying that the Covenant weren't responsible for those 20,000 deaths, just that they didn't pull the trigger, so to speak.-- Rusty-112 Admin comm 23:54, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
