Template:New Content Template:Individual Ship Infobox The UNSC Daedalus was a UNSC frigate that had ended its service sometime during the earlier-half of the Human-Covenant War.[1]
History
All that is known about the Daedalus is that sometime around the start of the Human-Covenant War, the Daedalus went down in-atmosphere over the planet Galgalia. While the planet's high gravity and harsh conditions, as well as the circumstances of the atmospheric insertion made any chance of this ship's crew or cargo surviving improbable, a group of four marines had endured the crash, having buckled themselves into the seats of at least four M12 Force Application Vehicles and braced themselves for impact. Remarkably, four of the vehicles survived the crash intact. Once on the surface, the marines innovatively relied upon the possible uses of the vehicles for survival. Having set their transmitters to broadcast a distress signal, they were eventually rescued from the planet's surface. The ship's molten wreckage was supposedly scattered miles across the surface of the planet and the ruins were later scavenged thoroughly.[1]
Trivia
- The Daedalus was only mentioned in a brief promotional video for the M12 Force Application Vehicle's guest appearance in the third-party racing game Forza Motorsport 4, therefore, its status as canon is yet undetermined.
- The UNSC Daedalus was probably named after Daedalus, the person who, according to Greek mythology, created the labyrinth.
