The Côte d'Azur Museum of Natural History was a museum in the coastal city of Côte d'Azur on the planet Sigma Octanus IV.[1]
The museum had the appearance of an Athenian temple, with white Marble steps and Ionic columns.[2]
In 2552 during the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV, the Covenant attacked Côte d'Azur in hopes of attaining a Forerunner artifact on display in the Museum of Natural History. The museum, once captured by the Covenant, was guarded by two stationary plasma turrets along with many Jackals, Grunts, and Elites. Guarding the artifact itself however was a pair of Hunters. Despite these defenses, SPARTAN Blue Team, led by the Master Chief, was able to recapture the museum and secure the Forerunner artifact.[3]
The museum was destroyed when Blue Team detonated a HAVOK tactical nuclear warhead in Côte d'Azur.[4]
Trivia
The Côte d'Azur Museum of Natural History was the place where UNSC forces officially first came in contact with the Hunters: unofficially they had already been met in 2531 and 2537.
