I made this article so people who have played the game series who do not understand what sentient means so they can look here and understand it.
- Cough...Dictionary.com anyone? Cheers. RickrollerGeneralÌṂρεσάḹόґMyVictoriesFile:Cavalier achievement.gif 00:06, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
The realworld part: I dont think the realworld part is needed because there is wide discussion within games that revolve around sentient beings and their relation to the flood and the halo array, so with respect im going to remove it. - Skene4kaos, my actual gamertag is Scene4kaos
Wrong def. of sentient...
Sentient means being consciousness, being able to precive. The term this arcticle is reffering to is sapience. Jabberwock xeno 23:22, May 8, 2010 (UTC)
Proposal: Move to "Sapience"
Jabberwock xeno's comment is almost celebrating its second birthday, but it raises a legitinmate point - we're perpetuating the wrong definition of "sentient". I propose that we rename the article "sapience", and clarify the distinction between sentience and sapience.

- That different is pretty big, in fact. While a full conciousness can only be confirmed amongst humans - a being acting on their own will rather than just by instinct, there are many sentient animals. That makes the Halo Array much more deadly, particularly to mammals.-- Forerunner 18:27, 21 January 2012 (EST)
