When I first found Halopedia, I'm not sure when, I just sat in front of my computer in awe. I'd loved the Halo storyline from the moment I first played Combat Evolved ten years ago. To discover a repository of information on every component of that universe, created and maintained by others who loved the story as much as I did, that was one of the best feelings in the world. Then I lost about a week trawling through every single article that I could find; which was totally worth it, by the way. Let's gear up people: seven years have gone by, but there is so much more material to come in the near future. I suppose I could start on the date I joined. Halopedia has stuck with me since I was a Frosh in High School and I eventually left near my graduation point of my Senior year. I believe I joined back at September of 2007 just a couple weeks after Halo 3 was released. However many have said I joined 4 or more months later on. I truly don't know, its all a blur to me now. I do remember when the site was "ancient" (appropriate word for this site's day and age) and how you needed old fashion talk pages to communicate with one another and had to use the forums to get word around instead of blogs. For me, that didn't last long as Halopedia was given a massive over-haul. Many of its upgrades were more focused at a more social aspect for its ever flourishing user membership at the time. It was applicable and eventually smoothed itself out.
From then on I went from an article hopping/vandalism-hunting sub-user to a full on IRC junkie. The Internet Relay Chat (IRC) was the core of Halopedia and its users. All we did was talk smack about each other and pissed off the operators :D. Going along I eventually failed a request for Adminiship- twice. Oh yes, I've probably broken the record and perhaps the only user to do so. All in all it was great. Enjoying the hype and sharing the excitement with each new Halo release and what not. Good times.

Down memory lane... yay!! — subtank 20:00, 3 November 2011 (EDT)
- Gah! I kept trying to figure out what that "something cool" was! Now, I should recall a memory... Tuckerscreator(stalk) 20:05, 3 November 2011 (EDT)
I consider my service period to be from August 3, 2007 to September 10, 2009. Still, it was fun while it lasted. Template:Sonasig

Not that I have ever been an active member on the site, but congrats on 7 years of Halopedia.--DavidShapiro 20:16, 3 November 2011 (EDT)
- To think; seven years already. I've only been around for three of those, and here was me thinking that I had been here a while. Let us commemorate that our wonderful encyclopedia has stood the test of time and remained a ever-present source of information for Halo fans new and old.
- There have been some ups and downs, and we've lost many an editor over the years, particularly during these dark times after our schism from Wikia. But, if you have remained, if you have held on through the storm, held dear the spirit of this wiki, and remain here editing to this day, then you can stand tall and say truly, "I am a Halopedian!"
- Here's to another seven everyone! - File:Black Mesa.jpg Halo-343 (Talk) 20:39, 3 November 2011 (EDT)
I've been here only ten months, but I have gotten to know some pretty cool people. Happy Anniversary Halopedia!--Lt. Commander 光环的家伙1234 Talk (Contribs) (Edits) 21:03, 3 November 2011 (EDT)
- I can't remember when I "officially" joined and started working on Halopedia (but if someone could look at the logs for me would be great), but I must say I am exceedingly proud to be a Halopedian. I've been a die-hard fan and scholar of almost all things science fiction, and more specifically, Halo, ever since I got into it with my church youth group (with a little help from my uncle, who gave me a copy of Halo CE on CD for Mac). FYI, I think the same day I started working on Halopedia is the same day I simultaneously started working on the Halo Nation wikia (they kept changing the backgrounds of the original Halo works I did, which pissed me off). In any case, Happy Seventh Anniversary to everyone here! --Xamikaze330 21:04, 3 November 2011 (EDT)Xamikaze330
I remember whiling away dull study hours here, doing something productive with my time rather than just twiddling my thumbs. I still do. I've learned more through my interest in Halo (philosophy, science, human nature) than I ever did in Secondary School, and I really think I'd be a different person if I'd never found it. You guys were there to talk to, to bounce ideas off, to inspire, and to provide outlet for a passion for the game. We've had our low points, and they have been low - but when we reach our highs, we soar. I don't remember when I first came here, because I was reading articles here long before I officially created an account, but I know that I'll still be here long after the last Halo game is sitting on my shelf. Long live Halopedia: kings it makes gods, and meaner creatures, kings. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 21:16, 3 November 2011 (EDT)
Anyone want to try to find the first ever edit made by anyone on Halopedia?--Lt. Commander 光环的家伙1234 Talk (Contribs) (Edits) 21:33, 3 November 2011 (EDT)
I have been on Halopedia since 2007, but actually became a member in late 2009... oh my god has it really been almost two years? My favorite memory? Well gosh, that's gotta be the time when Reach came out... which was only a year ago. Wow, time does fly. I bet you anything the first edit on Halopedia was made by Steve. The first one not made by Steve was likely vandalism. :D pestilence Phil, pestilence! 21:37, 3 November 2011 (EDT)
- @Halofan1234 Found it! :D The first edit ever made to Halopedia... I think... Ιι Ηη Ππ 22:11, 3 November 2011 (EDT)

- Oh, I guess it was technically started on November 3rd. Whoops. --Dragonclaws(talk) 01:25, 4 November 2011 (EDT)
- My first edit was affected by a glitch. O.o 2 years, 2 months and 16 days in Halopedia, from a stupid gamer to a somewhat contributive editor. Possibly the most memorable in this time was that edit war with -Ascension- on the Flood (and, to be honest, to this very day I still think that trivia is noteworthy). CMoA in rollback request page. On Halopedia, I've learned new words, ideas, subjects, technics, and so many other things. So, thank you and Happy 7th Anniversary! :D —S331 (Tank beats Everything!) 01:03, 4 November 2011 (EDT)
*claps* I'm not as active as I used to be, but I still love Halopedia. Specops306: I love how you would post thoughtful comments on my blog articles. I've been thinking about writing the article on Huragok you suggested but I'm still not quite sure what to say. I'm also glad that I got to meet RR through Halopedia, as we've had some great discussions. The CD machinima project was great even though we never made it past two scenes and never put out an episode. I love Halopedia! --Dragonclaws(talk) 01:33, 4 November 2011 (EDT)
- Speaking of which, my favourite memories were reading the blogs people would post, on subjects ranging from canonical speculation, technical specifications, community discussion, reviews of novels and comics, and analyses of gender issues: the latter especially. There are some brilliant minds here, and I hope they go on to great things! -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 05:52, 4 November 2011 (EDT)
Halopedia's come a long way. Even during my comparatively brief stay here, it's been amazing to see how this wiki has grown and matured. Basically all of the changes that have been made have been for the better, from changing our titling standards to migrating from the clutches of Wikia. It's been great to be a part of that, especially knowing of the increasing role and influence this wiki has as a repository of Halo information to both fans and franchise developers alike. The responsibility that comes with this should serve as encouragement for us to make sure our content stays as reliable and accurate as possible. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 07:09, 4 November 2011 (EDT)

Joined Halopedia May of 2008, seen a lot of good editors come and go, so many changes, such as the usergroups gettin disbanded. The Halopedia parodies were a favorite of mine, tried one out myself. By the way, I'm still emotionally scarred from the first time I went on #halopedia. File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. Snipes450File:Colonel Grade One.png 15:41, 4 November 2011 (EDT)
Happy Halo-Birthday from the Spanish Halopedia ! You are on Waypoint hahaha, but that's very good, you are the best! See you on My Halopedia (ES) profile!!. You will be on deviantART, because I'm doing a job for you (a simple draw), on mi profile (Haru-beat). Spartans never die...
It is abundant that Halopedia has quite a history and has brought many happy memories to many individuals. I can't say that I am one of the most active or one of the most talented Halopedians. But I am pleased to say that every constructive addition to the wiki was a pleasure to make, I hope to make many more and I wish to see the project thrive.--Brute Honour Guard File:Bruteface.png ("Talk") 16:56, 4 November 2011 (EDT)
Just a bit late to the party, but i'd like to thank everyone on here and the hundreds of contributors i've had the enjoyment of editing alongside since I came here. Special thanks goes to the Administrators and seasoned veterans who keep this wiki going on a day-by-day basis! Oh, and I couldn't stand to not thank the brilliant minds at Bungie Studios, 343 Industries, Ensemble Studios, Certain Affinity, and anyone who's had the slightest impact on the franchise. Cheers to you and I hope to see you all next year! Oh, and here's a couple presents I got for you all (courtesy of 343i's community manager, bsangel). User:CommanderTony/Sig

YES!!! Some people were complaining about recognition earlier so this makes me very happy inside. As do the little gifts up there. It shows they care. And that's a really really good thing. :D pestilence Phil, pestilence! 22:04, 4 November 2011 (EDT)
Congrats, Halopedia. Been a while since I was here. New front page looks pretty slick, and the articles are accurate and well-written as always. - Cobb (68.48.253.48 00:09, 5 November 2011 (EDT))

Congrats Halopedia! I've been here for 2 years (2 years, 3 months and 9 days..), but only started really editing a few months ago, so there isn't much I can say here.. But I have spent many hours poring over well written articles and struggling to find at least one thing wrong with them! And it fills me with immense pride to be part of this community, and I hope halopedia continues to be the best source of halo information for the next 7 years! By the way, I'm not taking one of those codes, I certainly don't deserve one. <Wonder what they are for!!>. Thanks guys, for making halopedia the definitive source of Halo information it is today. I too wish to give all my thanks to everyone whom I've worked beside during my stint here. It's not over yet, and I can only imagine that this wiki will continue to be a success for years to come, and will remain a notable memory for many of this community. It's definitely been a long, never ending road. Hard to believe that I've only been with it for just over 3 years, while thinking that the wiki has existed twice as long as that. Seeing our activity shows that we're still kicking and that always makes me feel proud that it's something I've helped work towards. - File:Major.png Nìcmávr (Tálk) 08:28, 5 November 2011 (EDT)
I've been around for at least three years. I hardly turned 16 less than a week ago, and I've been playing Halo since launch of the Xbox. I was 6. I grew up on the universe and it will always be my third parent that taught me to love, fear, imagine, and kill Unggoy. Thank you Halopedia for bringing together the experience and bringing back the memories! Cool fool 23:28, 5 November 2011 (EDT)
I've been around for a little over a year, and I'm glad to be a part of this site. I'm glad I played Halo during that slow summer. Happy 7th Birthday, Halopedia!! --Spartan-0093 File:Mobassa ODST.jpg (Comm Channel 0-93) 00:40, 6 November 2011 (EDT)
Halo was the first video game Iever played. It was five years ago. Three years later I found Halopedia and began using it to understand a lot more about Halo canon. In late 2009/early 2010 I became a member and after a few mistkes, a couple hiccups and an argument or two I learned what was relevent, redundant and appropriate for the site. All I can say now is: Thanks everyone; let's keep it up. --Felix-119 07:27, 6 November 2011 (EST)

It was applicable and eventually smoothed itself out.
From then on I went from an article hopping/vandalism-hunting sub-user to a full on IRC junkie. The Internet Relay Chat (IRC) was the core of Halopedia and its users.
