The UNSC Ariadne is a UNSC patrol ship in service with the UNSC Navy after the Human-Covenant War. It was commanded by Commander Pasquale.[1]
Background
On January 2553, the Ariadne experienced reactor complications and was forced to drop out of slipspace near Venezia. Commander Pasquale made contact with the colony, asking for permission to land nonessential personnel for safety reasons. The Insurrectionist colony refused to comply with the request. The Ariadne then requested assistance from Earth.[1] The UNSC Monte Cassino was sent to evacuate the ship's crew, but slipspace travel's unpredictable nature caused a five-hour delay. The Ariadne's reactor went into meltdown and overloaded shortly after the Template:UNSCship arrived in-system, destroying the ship.[2]
Trivia
- In Greek mythology, Ariadne was the daughter of King Minos of Crete. She helped the Greek hero, Theseus, defeat the Minotaur.
