- John Doe is a minor character in the short story; The ''Mona Lisa''.
- John Doe is probably the only survivor of the Flood infection of the prison ship, the ''Mona Lisa''. He is found by the crew of the UNSC ''Red Horse'' in a escape pod that originated from the ''Mona Lisa''. Sergeant Zhao Heng Lopez and his team open the escape pod to find John Doe laying in a large pool of his own blood.
- However, almost directly after the opening of the escape pod, John Doe rises up and stumbles to Sergeant Zhao Heng Lopez's team and screams "Don't let them get me!"
Injuries
- John Doe is later stabilized by Hospital Corpsman Ngoc Benti.[1] A closer inspection of John Doe's body shows a huge hole in his chest, vicious and brutal slashes across his body, a blackened left foot in dire need of amputation, a chunk of flesh missing from his left arm, a shattered shoulder, and even a missing ear.[2]
