The launcher is a biological structure that the Flood use to defend their hives.
Description
Flood launchers fire globs of Flood biomass at enemy forces, seemingly by contracting a muscle analogue and forcing the biomass through a sphincter. The biomass these structures launch sometimes manifests as a cloud of Flood spores, which are invariably lethal to unprotected lifeforms. Such structures are only known to have been used during a battle on a Flood-controlled Shield World in February 2531; at one point in the battle, several launchers prevented the evacuation of Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie platoons to the Template:UNSCship.[1]
