The Calypso fulfills a purpose similar to Black Cat-class Subprowler. Calsypso-class exfiltration craft were in use in the 2530s, notably during Operation: PROMETHEUS. Black Cats may have rendered these ships obsolete.[1] Despite this, Calypsos were in service as late as 2552.[2]
Trivia
- In Greek mythology, Calypso was a daughter of Atlas who imprisoned Odysseus for seven years during his voyage home to Ithaca in Homer's epic, The Odyssey. This could a reference to the number seven.
