Checkman was an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper of the UNSC Marine Corps [1]. He was assigned to MSgt Cortez' team aboard the Destroyer DD-933 as well as Dutch and O'Brien. He, along with his fellow squadmates were given the task of assassinating a Prophet on a Covenant-held world. Just like the rest of the squad, he was furious that a Spartan got ordered to lead the mission.
