"Halo" = definition: the circle of light shown around a sacred figure such as a god or angel.
as being referred to as the ring of light above a god or angel. dont you think that has something to do with the bible?

John 117. we all know this is the name and the spartan number of master chief. the main character of halo. but have you ever bin suspicious of John 117?
well if you look around the bible you find this.
The gospel according to John. chapter 1 verse 17 " God gave the law through moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."

the game being set in 2552. this is when the end of the world is marked in the bible.
