Tarkov was a member of the UNSC Marine Corps who participated in the Human-Covenant War [1]. Tarkov was an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, assigned to the 19th Shock Troops Battalion of the 105th ODST Division.
His apparent acquaintance, K. Stark, who had been a member of the 19th Battalion, was killed in action. Tarkov attended Stark's burial and afterward enlisted in the UNSC Marine Corps. He then went through a series of brutal training exercises to prepare him for combat against the Covenant.
During one of his first battles, he dropped onto an unknown planet amongst other members of the 19th Shock Troops Battalion to engage Covenant forces. Several Banshees and numerous Covenant ground forces were present. One Brute Major had struck Tarkov into a small puddle. As the Brute was approaching the helpless soldier, a severely damaged Banshee crashed nearby, killing the Brute and saving Tarkov's life.
Tarkov continued to serve with the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers for several years. His current status is unknown.
Trivia
- Strangely, Tarkov seems to have begun his military service in the ODSTs, who are a group of "handpicked volunteers" selected from the Unified Earth Government's various special forces units.
- Tarkov is presumably one of the few humans who encountered a Brute before 2552, when the race's existence was made known to the whole of humanity.
- Tarkov's bloodtype is O+. His bloodtype is the same as both The Rookie and T. Rymann.
- While Tarkov, Coady and a handful of ODSTs hold a funeral for a fallen comrade, you can see the emblem on their flag is also on their armor. The emblem is an HEV pod with a banner that says ODST infront of it and on the pod is a flaming human skull. On its right side above the skull, it says 19th and on the left side above the skull it says BN. The 19th BN stands for 19th Battallion.
