Owls are predatory raptors (birds of prey), related to Eagles, native to Earth. They also inhabit a number of human-colonised worlds as well, artificially introduced by colonists. The Reach Military Wilderness Training Preserve contained owls in 2519, among other fauna. Spartan-II Sam-034 mimicked one to alert John-117 of his presence while on a training mission.[1]
