The Halo 3 Live Action Trailer is a live-action short made exclusively for the launch of Halo 3: ODST. The trailer along with the upcoming short film is directed by Rupert Sanders, who also worked on Halo 3: Believe.[1].
This short showcases the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, an elite organization of UNSC Marines, particularly the 19th Shock Troop Battalion during their operations in the Human-Covenant War.
Overview
Trailer
It starts with a ODST funeral of SSGT. K. Stark. We see a believed relative or friend of Stark named Tarkov, and how he trained to become an ODST. The scene switches and we see Tarkov being dropped into combat in a HEV pod, him and the rest of the ODST's assault a Covenant held region on an unknown planet. Tarkov comes face to face with a Jiralhanae and is nearly killed but is saved by a Banshee that strikes the ground killing the Brute. The scene switches to Tarkov again, now several years older, and the wounds he had recently attained on his face have become visible scars. He stares into the distance, a small funereal is held for an ODST killed during another battle, a distant explosion and plasma fire is heard in the distance - Tarkov and the rest of his squad put on their helmets and the squad moves out.
Trivia
- Unlike most UNSC personnel, the Marines only speak Hungarian, a language not commonly seen or used previously in the Halo universe.
