Overview

A live action trailer promoting the release of Halo 3: ODST was released on 4th September. It starts with a ODST funeral of SSGT. K. STARK. We see a believed relative or friend of Stark named Tarkov, and how he trained to become an ODST. The scene switches and we see Tarkov being dropped into combat in a HEV pod, him and the rest of the ODST's assault a Covenant held region on Earth. Tarkov comes face to face with a Brute and is nearly killed but is saved by a Banshee that strikes the ground killing the Brute. The scene switches to Tarkov's squad mate who is staring into the distances, a small funereal is held for an ODST killed during the battle, a distant explosion and plasma fire is heard in the distance - Tarkov and the rest of his put on their helmets and the squad moves out.

Trivia

• This short showcases the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, an elite organization of UNSC Marines, during their battles in the Human-Covenant War.
• They are speaking Russian during the trailer. Not a single word of English was uttered.
• The main character of the trailer is namned Tarkov.
