Harper then commanded his fleet directly into the Covenant forces.[3] Shortly after the Covenant arrival, the Fleet was split into two groups. First Echelon was controlled by Harper and was in charge of destroying the CCS-class Battlecruisers and the Second Echelon was charged in stopping the Assault Carriers attempting to break through Earth's defenses. One of the Cruisers was severely damaged by the other Assault Carrier.
