Berger was a member of the UNSC Navy who participated in the Human-Covenant War [1]. He was a crewman stationed aboard the Destroyer 993-DD. He greatly admires the ODSTs, once trying to sit near a squad, in the ship's cafeteria, to eavesdrop on their conversation, before being pulled away by a fellow crewman.
