The Stoics were a power during the San 'Shyuum Civil War that refused to enter the Forerunner Dreadnaught, as opposed to the Reformists, who wanted to enter it. This lead to civil war.
The Stoics believed that the Reformists would desecrate the Forerunner Dreadnaught if they entered it. After the Reformists took flight from their homeworld, the Stoics sent out communication messages threatening that they would be damned for their digressions to the gods. The Stoics lost the San 'Shyuum Civil War.
